This is the local from my place of work and Kings Norton business centre, so even though like most carverys it’s aimed at those wanting to dine us lot go there for the much needed drink after work. Some of the drinks can seem a little expensive for that they are and where this place is, the service can be a bit slow and they only seem to have one card machine. They do have an ATM in there but it charges to withdraw cash. I’ve eaten there twice before and I’ve got to say it wasn’t the best I’ve had, there was a young carver on at the time so I feel I got more meat that I would normally at my local Toby’s. Unfortunately it just didn’t taste as good as my local, by no means did it taste bad it just wasn’t as tasty. Yes my descriptive skills are bad today. It can get busy there especially nearer the weekends, they do a breakfast too but I haven’t tried that myself. You can order smaller amounts of sandwiches or salads if you don’t fancy a big meal; but the Ploughman’s costs more than a carvery which is just mental. They seem to have quite a high staff turn over there, which can mean you have a lot of young staff learning on the job. I ordered some roast potatoes with cheese around christmas time for me and a friend and it took over an hour, yeah Christmas I know but potatoes — potatoes and it was over an hour before it arrived. Now lets get on to the toilet situation, obviously I can only speak for the ladies. If you get a a cubicle with an fixed toilet seat then you get a point, if you manage to find a cubicle where the roll of toilet paper is inside the dispenser you get another point. If you are then able to get your hand underneath the soap dispenser(because it is fixed that low down the wall!) you get another point but only if it actually contains soap. Once you have completed all these tasks you then have the opportunity to put your hands under the hand dryer and stand there for the rest of the night while it breezes lukewarm air over your hands, a person blowing on hot soup could do a better job. Overall I go because all my work mates go there, not out of choice — would much rather get a train into town.

Not too much to say about this one; it’s a Toby Carvery. There are just some days when a carvery can really hit the spot. Good meat, a huge yorkshire, heaps of tasty veg, what’s not to like? This particular Toby is also quite a nice one, particularly during the summer. It’s large and has plenty of tables inside, but there’s also a garden and sun terrace. It overlooks the lovely, leafy Kings Norton park, which is just a stone’s throw away. I’d say it’s a good place to fill up after a Sunday stroll around the nearby green spaces.

Yes yes yes… it’s a carvery. Yes yes yes it’s a Toby. however it is only a stones throw away from me and I really like it. My boyfriend and I are a bit snobby where we eat. He is a big beefy chap and likes/needs his protein… Grr. This carvery does three meats plus sausage PLUS pork scratchings, It does red and green cabbage, an assortment of condiments and gravy, mash AND roastie(yes indeed)…swede, Yorkshire, cauliflower, peas, carrots… on and on it goes. All for £6.00. If you pay and extra £1.50 then you get a plate the size of the moon. The interior has been modernized and they play cool music… friendly staff… near the park and church too so you can walk off the feast. The wine list is okay… not very adventurous but fairly priced. Large smokers outdoor area too(if you like that sort of thing). Just like it and it’s always full — what does that tell ya?

While it is a fairly typical Toby, I’ve found this one to be better than some of the others I’ve visited. It’s recently had a makeover, the interior is now very modern. Full of lots of glass panels and vintage pictures of Kings Norton and Cotteridge. It’s very clean and bright looking. There’s a really big bar area if you’re not there for food and two big open fireplaces, making it very cosy on winter nights. It can get busy in the summer as it has a fairly large terrace. It does have a pay and display car park, but it’s only £1 for two hours. If you give your ticket to the staff when you pay they’ll take it off the bill. Lots of options if you don’t fancy a carvery, my husband swears by the pan fried salmon salad. Lots of pudding choice too, if like me you have a sweet tooth and can always find room for ice cream! The staff are friendly too helpful too, although service can be a little slow at busy times. We waited 20 minutes for the bill on a recent visit. Cheap and cheerful!

Nice and busy sund 18 aug about 1245 shown straight to a table for 29.49 for an ordinary carvery. Young staff very attentive. Waited for the considerable queue to subside. Then. Picked roast pork. Very nice. Gammon turkey and beef were also on offer looked decent enough. Veggies were nice. Cauliflower cheese nice roast potatoes v important gravy well stocked all in all a good meal.

Toby Carvery in Kings Norton is a great place to go for either a friendly drink or a place to wine and dine. I would highly recommend both teenagers and young adults to check out this social location and restaurant. I find that this Toby Carvery franchise is moderately laidback and has a youthful essence and teen spirit atmosphere about it. Close by is Kings Norton park that has many facilities and going to the local Toby Carvery after a nice summers day down Kings Norton park would just be the topping on any relaxing day. The Toby Carvery also provides a spacious car park for many visitors travelling by vehicles, which makes King Norton’s Toby Carvery accessible to a wide range of customers. As for the meals they provide, they serve conventional carvery meals on Sundays as well as the addition of tasty burgers. I would recommend visiting the Toby Carvery if you are in both a family party or a social group as this franchise caters, serves and provides a welcoming atmosphere for both.
