Ate here midweek and eventually got a table after a long wait. Proprietor was very sniffy and the place is not very welcoming. The food was ok if expensive, I won’t be rushing back it really is nothing special.

I found it slightly odd to travel to the middle of nowhere and then be confronted with a ‘trendy wine bar’. We turned up with the intention of eating but after ordering our drinks and seeing the prices on the menu, we left. I didn’t want to pay top notch prices as we had three children with us at the time. Shame the place has lost its ‘old world’ character.

We used to go here alot on a Friday night for a meal. Sadly, it’s lost alot of it’s character and charm. The old fireplace and cosiness have gone and been replaced by the characterless shaker style. The food was good, but at a price. If you like small portions arranged artistically it might be for you. If you like good wholesome country food in a traditional setting, unfortunately, this is no longer the place for you. The food did not reflect the price. £12.50 for artistic Cod and Chips !(and still not as good as a fish and chip shop) My wife was cooked and served the wrong meal, then the correct Thai Curry was rustled up in a few minutes ?? I can think of many other Pubs where I would rather eat. They are trying there, but it doesn’t quite add up.

Relaxed gastro pub in a picturesque Dorset village. Lots of thatch — including the pub, now lovingly restored after burning down. There are two restaurants. We ate in the bar area, and enjoyed good local ingredients, well cooked. Lunch for 4 was £72.
