Bistro On The Beach is easily in one of the nicest places I’ve eaten at in Bournemouth what a location! We’ve taken friends and family to eat there on several occasions over the last couple of years and each time we end up thoroughly enjoy ourselves. The staff remember us and really go out of their way to make us feel welcome. If you’re looking for a relaxing time by the sea with a nice glass of wine and good food, give the bistro a go. Trust me, you’ll earn extra brownie points with the wife!

I went to the recent ‘Flamenco Guitar night’ at Bistro on the Beach. I felt so disgusted by the Poor food. The Set Menu Cost £24 per person. This was supposed to Tapas. The starter was a kind of Ritz type buscuit that had been devided into two. I know that was true as I got the thicker part of cheese filling on my bit! This was topped with a ‘dab’ of Salmon paste. A few broken bread sticks had been added just to add to the poor appearance of the ‘no other option’ starter. Next we were told the main course would be Steak! Thanks for the variety we thought. When is the Tapas coming? Why havent you got a special menu card of the table? The Steak arrived piled up with a stack of Chips. Very average. Again I was appalled that there was not a choice of salad or potatoes. The meal included a glass of wine. How dare they charge £24 per person for this? The Poor starter and very average main course. No options what so ever?

Agree with the other reviewer — not a bistro, but a nice modern little seaside café, with lovely food, good choices and great views. Not too expensive, good food and putting attached. Right in the heart of the southbourne overcliff, with some lovely little walks nearby. Great kids play park almost next door too.

Not too sure I’d call this a bistro, but they do a variety of hot and cold food, which is nicely presented. There are great views here, and I love it on a stormy day — the windows are large, and there you are with a hot drink! The staff are friendly, and it’s a great spot, especially if you’ve been walking. Worth a visit — I must go back!
