We ordered 5 pizzas to take away as it was my sons birthday. Rather than have the usual dominos or farmhouse pizzas we went for some more authentic style pizzas. We had a margarita, American(pepperoni), parmigiana and calzone(folded pizza). The parmigiana was lovely with fried aubergines and basil. The calzones was filled with lovely tomatoe sauce and ham(we opted out of the blue cheese). The pizzas were the nearest to what we have had in Italy. Stone oven and thin crust. Don Benis do not deliver but it is worth the drive.

We came here on the strength of Lizzie G’s recommendation. I am a big fan of the quality normally found in the traditional dishes in a family restaurant. Some of that quality sometimes comes at the price of atmosphere, sometimes not. In this case, the setting is not as rich as Lizzie G describes. The converter barn is large, but the ceilings are low and the interior needs a proper makeover. It looks like it was last updated for a big party in 1999. But that’s okay, because the garlic bread arrives and it’s a huge, fluffy focaccia with garlic and herbs and oil. Blatantly fresh made and fresh from the oven. Lacking salt — easily remedied at the table. The tablecloths aren’t check anymore but a cool Don Beni custom design halfway between linen and that plastic-y feel. The pizza was very good, a soft thick crust and loaded with fresh bits and in my case(the Ken) fresh cut pepperoni sausage and Gorgonzola cheese. Carbonara had by my guest was pretty good too apparently. I’m pleased to say I heard calls from the Chef in the kitchen in Italian so some authenticity added there! So, come for a very casual family place with quality home cooking and genuinely friendly staff. Do not come to impress guests with fine décor, 5* food or silver service. Finally value: I think 3 stars is kind. Dover sole is £20. Wow. Considering the venue it doesn’t seem quite right. Nov 2011

I would have given 5 star a few years back. The food is excellent, just as good. The seafood pasta and the Bomb Stega are the best items, plus the garlic breads are almost as big as pizzas. The service is excellent and friendly. Especially for families. They have significantly increased their prices though, hence 4 not 5.

Fantastic authentic Italian service. The food is decent but expensive for what you get(£19 for fillet steak — more expensive than Windsor grill). HUGE menu choice and warm relaxed friendly atmosphere. It’s the sort of place I would visit every now and again with friends/family. I’ll definitely be back.

This is the original of the Don beni chain in this area and by far the best. Its an old converted barn that a family have crammed with tables covered in checked cloths. The food is cafefully hand prepared and you can really taste the family love. I have been here with many friends and they always comment on how fresh the seafood is in Winkfield. I’ts romantic but does get busy on the weekends. Oh and make sure you have some of the garlic bread, but no kissing after!

Pizza and pasta, typical Italian restaurant. Friendly waiters and quick service. It gets busy and hectic in here but all part of the charm. Usually good value for money and large pizzas. They also do takeaways but not delivery.

Don Beni’s is a great place to eat, the food is lovely and the waiters are very friendly and efficient. It does tend to be quite loud in there when there is alot of people but it is worth the noise.
