Tutti Grille seems a bit like a restaurant of convenience. Situated under the Vue cinema in Hamilton, it is perfect for a meal before or after seeing a film. They even have a pre-cinema menu, which is what me and my boyfriend opted for. The first thing i noticed about the restaurant was that it is so dark! The décor is quite dark anyway so i think a bit more lighting would have been helpful! We were seated at a table in the corner which was great because of it’s privacy. The waitress came to take our order pretty quickly. Like i said before, we decided to go for the pre-cinema menu, which is considerably cheaper than the normal one. Starter, main and dessert was a mere 11.50 which is really great value. The menu is tiny and no description of the food is is included, so i had to ask the waitress. I started with Italian anti-pasti, 4 or 5 slices of different Italian meats and a few olives, drenched in Olive Oil. It was a bit too oily for me but tasty all the same. For main, i had chicken Milanese, which was a breadcrumb coated chicken breast with tomato spaghetti and garlic oil. If i am perfectly honest it wasn’t that great. The chicken could easily have been a supermarket bought version. The pasta was nice, although i would have liked it to be a bit hotter. My boyfriend had Spaghetti Bolognaise which i tried, and really didn’t like. The bolognaise sauce was pretty pale and the beef almost a grey colour. Could have done with a few splashes of red wine! We decided to be fattys and have dessert too, which was a tiramisu with tia maria in it. It was ok, really nicely presented, but unfortunately committed the cardinal sin of being accompanied by skooshy cream! aaaaaaa! Pet hate. We decided that the cream in the pudding was just on the edge of going off, but we ate it all the same! I would go back perhaps for lunch, but i don’t think i would spend money to go at night for full price dinner, as dishes cost from 10 pounds upwards. As i said, convenient if you are going to the pics(although Frankie and Benny’s is next door!)
