This pharmacy gets a top rating based mainly on the fact that it has useful opening hours, unlike so many of it’s competitors. Unfortunately, we don’t all get ill between 9 and 5, Monday to Friday, so like the NHS(yes, it’s already 24 hours Jeremy) you can come to Astons to pick up your prescription or buy over the counter drugs any day of the week, between 9am and 10pm. On top of the useful hours, the staff are really friendly and are able to give useful advise, and they stock all your usual chemist additions. Not much else to say, other than it’s open when you need it to be!

Ashtons is efficient and well stocked. It’s really quite a small shop, but the wallls are stacked floor to ceiling with goods. There is a slightly intimdating atmosphere though, for some reason — this is the only chemist that I’ve ever seen a security guard in. I think that’s probably due to the fact that they are open late, which is very useful at times. Staff don’t seem particularly friendly, it has to be said, but the place does serve its purpose.

I’ve never had any problem with this local phrmacy of mine, having picked up prescriptions and vitamin C stuff. The shop is though quite small so if your looking to get a wide range of things in one place, such as deodorants and toiletries etc… your better going to Superdrug or Boots. There is constantly an in house security guard after around 6 which makes me think the Seven Dials is not the idyll it seems from the outside… interesting…

What’s with the attitude? In their adverts, Ashtons promote themselves as a reliable and trustworthy local pharmacy where the staff smile as they hand over prescriptions. And yet, every time I’ve been to pick up or drop off a prescription I feel like I’m interrupting the staff’s conversation or daydreaming. The fact Ashtons is open seven days a week and sells vitamins, flu tables, cough medicines and toiletries as well as prescriptions is great but I really could do without the thousand yard stares and the sarcasm. If I was a manic depressive, visiting here on a regular basis could tip me over the edge…

A very decent local chemist with a fair choice of toiletries and over-counter medicines as well as a pharmacy: but most importantly they have long opening hours — 9−22h every day, including Sundays. So great if you suddenly run out of something, or a guest does!(The pharmacist is available for the same hours). Staff are also helpful and friendly.
