Perfect food for a day out on the seaside. Came to Brighton for the day to make the most of the surprising April weather, and so fish and chips on the beach were a must. We chose Buddy’s after a recommendation from friends who live nearby and weren’t disappointed. The choice of food is as you would expect and of great quality and a reasonable price. Will definitely be back again!

We love this side of Buddies when we are in a rush, the fish is always in a crispy batter and the chips are the best any where on the seafront, we also use Dinner to go to collect from here, best of all it’s very well priced,

Lush fish! Very average chips. Which we think gave my boyfriend the shits during the night. :)

My sister used to live in Brighton and recommended Buddies as the best place to get fish and chips it’s a few years since she moved away and I think this place must’ve gone down hill since then. The chips were mainly the end bits of the potato which were small and hard, the few decent size chips we got didn’t taste too good and seemed a little over cooked. My hubby had fish which he didn’t really enjoy as it was rather bland. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but I don’t think I’d want to go back and try again!

Buddies Plaice is undoubtedly my favourite place(or rather ‘plaice’, geddit?) to go for whatever-you-fancy ‘n’ chips. I first discovered this place after a particularly heavy(…ahem…) night at Casablanca’s nightclub on Ship Street at about 3am on a Thursday morning. At that moment, their chips tasted like the most incredible thing I’d ever eaten in my life. The next time I went to Buddies, I’d had a few cans of lager on the beach on a beautiful sunny day and again the chips were just to die for. Their food all comes in a nice polystyrene box not particularly environmentally friendly, but it means you can quickly snap it shut at any given moment to protect your meal from those nasty seagull creatures. The portions are a great size too and their chips are the best value for money on the sea front don’t go to the overpriced places under the arches, pop up the steps and across the road to Buddies. You’ll not only save yourself a good 50p(hooray!), but you’ll get more for your money.

This is one of the best places to go after a night out. Open until the early hours this café/restaurant serves a great selection of meals and snacks ranging from burgers, pastas and steaks. Buddys is, of course, open during the day/early evening — but it’s at night that it really comes alive. Is situated in the Kings Road and has a direct view of Brighton Beach/the English Channel. Lots of seats inside but also an outside seating area during the summer. Service is really friendly(especially given the number of drunk customers they have to serve !) although can be slow if they are busy. Prices are restaurant prices — so probably best not to go there if all you want is a cheap take away burger. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic place to go after a heavy night out while you are waiting for the cab. Good fish, good chips and really nice staff. Much much better than the overrated over priced Bankers. Next time you are on the seafront give these guys a try, you wont regrett it.
