This was such a fun end to my week! We learnt how to make animals and other decorations from mexican paste and how to use piping bags for icing the cupcakes. The host was a lovely woman with amazing taste in music so we chatted with her a lot while motown songs played in the background. It was a really lovely way to unwind especially because the host was so laid back and didn’t really mind what we did as long as we weren’t struggling and were having fun. I’d absolutely recommend doing this to anyone who wants to de-stress at the end of a long week or just if you want to do something non-alcohol related with friends!

What a brilliant Unilocal event this was. Really loved it and such a good way to finish the week as we came at 6.30pm on a Friday. The shop is really cute and the class was very relaxed. We learnt how to colour icing and make different shapes and toppings for our cakes. I made a little robot and a giraffes head and some strawberries… Not all for the same cake of course. We learnt piping techniques and then used different glitters and various other toppings to finish our fancy cake decorations. Will definitely recommend people to do this, would be good for birthdays or hen doos or baby showers etc but also just a nice thing to do with a few mates.

I had an AMAZING time at this event! Cupcake decorating was a perfect way to end a rather long feeling week. It was nice to just sit back and be a bit creative and silly. Plus, there is the added bonus of cakes at the end. Looking at their other classes I think I would LOVE the vintage cupcake decorating class. And they even have a gluten free Christmas baking workshop in December.

Friday night. Time to go to a pub and get completely wasted. Or, perhaps, to decorate some cup cakes. This was a genuinely enjoyable event. After nearly two hours of dyeing decorations, piping butter cream icing in the company of the crème del la crème of Brighton Unilocalers I had completely forgotten about the stresses of the week. I came away with six nicely decorated cupcakes. I was quite proud of my creations(or at least I was before I compared them to those of my fellow Unilocalers). Thanks to the our lovely tutor from Angel Food Bakery and to Sophie for organising.

Decorating cup cakes on a Friday night isn’t something that’s regular for me! But I’d do it all again! This is a really nice thing to do especially with a group of friends. It was the best thing to do after a long week at work. Our host was lovely, very warm and friendly. Sometimes when you go to some classes it’s a little bit too much I find with information, but it wasn’t overbearing at all. We were shown the basics and told some key facts and left to our own devices. It was really really good! We were given a selection of cakes, vanilla, red velvet and chocolate. It was up to us what we decorated with, so much choice from fudge pieces to fake flowers! It was a really fun event and I would def do it again. Perfect for birthdays or just any event really. Plus you can bring your own wine.
