Just up the road from where I spend my weekends with Aunt. Have always come up Trumps when it comes to getting a bouquet for Aunt. Recently had a bereavement, and the tribute that they produced at such a good price was most impressive. You might need a pair strong legs to get up the Drove. not too bad if you’re near The Park View, though. Thanks a lot for your previous excellent service.

I just popped into Ginger Lily Florists to buy a bunch of flowers for my wife and was amazed at the display of flowers outside. The sight and smell really cheered me up on a miserable, cold December day. I was served by the owner, a lovely lady who really helped inspire my somewhat stunted ideas on how best to pick a bunch of flowers. I went for a bunch of pink lillies which, at a cost of £25 didn’t seem too bad. Ginger Lily offer same day delivery in the pretty vast surrounding areas of Brighton(check website for details) and can also create some amazing and inventive looking wedding bouquets. I rarely — if at all receive flowers. In fact the next time I’ll receive flowers it will probably be at my own funeral. If so, I hope they come from Ginger Lily’s!

I have a little fantasy about how lovely it would be work as a florist: surrounded by flora and fauna all day long, wonderful fragrances filling the air. And its true, there is a strong creative element in flower arranging– it must be really satisfying to create beautiful bouquets all day long. Whilst I’ve decided it’s a little slow paced for me, I ardently admire and support those who make it their vocation. It lifts my spirits when I see a neighbourhood florist, and Ginger Lily is no exception. Outside there are all sorts of reasonably priced little plants– perfect for pressies or pick-me-up treats! Inside, though there’s not a huge amount, what is there is really special. Lots of delicate, beautiful single stems… there’s no question, this is the place to get a really unique and special bouquet. It may be a little pricier than a bunch of roses from Sainsburys, but who wants to receive flowers with a giant £4.99 emblazoned on the wrapping? Not I. So I urge you, splash out, support your local florist, and get a much more personalised bunch of posies for your mantel!

Ginger Lily has only been open about a year and I first went in soon after it opened. The owner is a fantastic lady who put everything into this business and has continued to put her heart and soul into making a lovely florists. I really enjoyed chatting to her as she put some flowers together for me– I explained to her that I was a student without much money and she was totally fine with helping me to pick out some flowers and filler that came to a fiver every time. Despite my minute budget the bouquet always looked nice and made me happy every time I looked at it. Most of the time the flowers lasted a good fortnight. So for a while I went every fortnight and watched as she added a beautiful collection of vases and cactei to her shop. I haven’t been for a while actually. I should stop by.
