The staff here are amazing, I’ve had Albert the apprentice for the past few months, and he is so good at his job! I always feel welcome and looked after, he always gives me a great cut that is easy to style and the products they use here are fantastic. I also had a haircut by Mel when Albert was away and she was also brilliant. Amazing stylist, made me feel like a million dollars and very chatty and lovely. I have to say they train their apprentices to a high level and do not cut on time with them. They really do spend time teaching them about customer service and customer care. I won’t be going anywhere else for a haircut.

I had a standby appointment last night by Patrick, what an amazing way to end the weekend. Incredibly friendly service, the trainee who washed my hair was a sweetheart and gave me a fab head massage. Quite frankly the best cut I have had in years absolutely delighted I feel transformed!

Worst service EVER! All Headmasters are interested is commission off sales they generate. I went in there with a standby hair appointment and was basically told my hair was crap, that I SHOULD spend £60 on the shampoo’s she advised and told me that I should be able to afford it. I was nearly in tears and the hairdresser(Star i think her name was) continued to try and force me to buy products, even when I stated that my boyfriend had to lend me the money for the haircut in the first place! DONOTGOTHERE!!!

I was damn impressed by this place, and had to come and Unilocal about it right away. There aren’t many salons I can think of that are this big and finished to such a fine detail, that let you call them up on the day, get an appointment for an hour and a halves time, turn up looking dishevelled and dripping with rain, and show a picture of an animé character and say«can you make me look like this please?» without laughing you out of the shop and to a mental institute. But that’s exactly what I did, and it only cost £15. Maybe I picked a quite time to go and was somewhat fortunate, but I felt every bit as pampered(boy is it hard to sound manly when talking about haircuts) as I have done in the handful of other salons I have visited, and revisited. I’m not the chattiest of people when having my hair put at risk, and am quite satisfied to exchange meaningful words and light hearted jokes, rather than to talk aimlessly throughout the process. And from the looks of things, the fine men and women at Headmasters seemed more than happy to comply with either approach. So far as the consultation was concerned, it was easily the most practical I’ve had… Which was in no small part aided by me showing a picture of Spike Spiegel(from Cowboy Bebop) and asking if his gravity defying curls were physically possible. While assuring me that it would not look exactly the same, I personally felt it came as close to the fiction as reality would allow without the aid of a wig, and for that I’m bloomin’ grateful. I have to say, I felt silly for making such a random request, but I was reassured incredibly quickly… Needless to say, I’ll be returning to Headmasters again when I next have the urge to animé myself up!

I went to Headmasters, eagerly anticipating the loss of more than a few inches of mess from my head, clutching a «recommend a man» voucher, given to my by my friend, ensuring 50% off. In the past, i’ve tended just to get a quick cheap haircut from a barber, so the salon experience was pretty new to me, and i’ve got to say, it was nice. Drinks of your choice are brought over to you whilst you discuss, at length, your plans for your new haircut with the stylist, and then, they’ll take your coat and hang it up whilst you have your hair washed. Very nice. Throughout the haircut itself I was very much in the driver’s seat, constantly consulted, but also offered considered advice, and the hairdresser was more than friendly. My hair looks much, much better, and as I left, I was showered with so many«recommend a friend» vouchers that no-one of my friends need ever pay more than half for their next restyle or cut. Thoroughly recommended.

I go here as they do £20 short notice standby appointments, as opposed to a pricey £35 usually. This works well for me as I don’t do much with my hair and a hair cut tends to be a last minute hurried decision when I’ve got some party or occasion coming up and I realise my hair looks a mess. I’m sure the staff agree on the ‘mess’ part too, judging by the looks of horror as my hair tumbles out from the hairband at the start of each cut. I have gone back there as it’s fairly cheap and a friend reccomended it to me in the first place. But to be honest, I’d happily take another reccomendation — the two cuts I’ve had there have been by inexperienced stylists who seem to cut it in a bit of an improvised and sloppy ad-hoc way. But saying that, maybe I’d have got more attention if I’d paid full price.

I usually go to Trevor Sorbie for my haircut– strange way to start a review for Headmasters perhaps– but I was struggling through a period of low cashflow and noticed that Headmasters do a student day every Monday afternoon. You can book an appointment on a Monday with a trainee hairdresser, don’t worry– it’s all under the supervision of a trained hairdresser, and get a haircut for £12. Now I love having a good haircut– you only need to check out my Trevor Sorbie review to know that I believe in the power of a good haircut, but £12 is a good deal. So I went along and I have to say– I don’t look like the gorgeous model in the window, but it went quite well and I’m pretty happy with the result. The cut is not as precise as my usual hairdresser’s but it is flattering and seems to hold it’s shape well. Not bad for £12. The usual prices, I have to admit, are quite a bit more, but the stylists I saw seemed very good and friendly.

I was recommended to this salon by my girlfriend, which entitled me to 50% off, so i thought why not. The salon inside is bright and immaculate. My hairdresser was tall slim blonde girl, who cut my hair very well. The only downside was the 2min hairwash and she didn’t talk much. I also got some ‘recommend a friend’ cards, which entitles me to another 50% if my friends come to the salon.
