The food is great and being a vegan the battered Linda sausages are lovely and the chips are great. Customer service is low as he seems grumpy most of the time and he made feel weird asking about ingredients in things. I had to really push to get the ingredients to his batter. Five stars for the food, one less for the service.

This fish and chip shop is in the Fiveways area of Brighton up above Preston Park and right next to a local post office and shops. It’s a lovely neighbourhood area and the Model Fish Fryer sits well with that atmosphere. The owner always gives us a nice smile and when I left my wallet there once by mistake, he rang the University to tell them that my wallet was safe and that i could come get it! Out of his way kindness. As for the food, as with the nearby Jenny’s fish shop, this place has an extensive menu of classic fried foods. The fish from here is always tasty and fresh, the batter can be a little thick– so if you like substantial batter this is the place to go. The chips are good and thick– they can be a little overcooked and sometimes they taste a bit of stale oil but only on occasion. All in all a decent neighbourhood fish bar with a great owner and cheap prices.
