I’ve walked past this place many times but never went in before. We visited on a lovely sunny day so sat outside on the terrace which was busy. We’d bought a voucher through Wriggle — hot dog & free flowing prosecco for £9.95(1−4pm) & I must admit we weren’t sure how it would live up to our expectation but we were both really pleased — our hot dogs were really tasty, although a little small to be classed as a meal, but the free flowing prosecco was exactly that! After being given a wrist band to show that we were in the prosecco club, we never had an empty glass, staff wandered around all afternoon topping up our glasses, we never had to go to the bar or ask for a top up. It was great — I will definitely go back, it was such great value!

Good nights out. Excellent DJs sometimes the soundsystem is a bit weak but still better than anything else on the seafront.

At present, I’m giving Patterns 2.5 stars, in the hope that I will return and enjoy it more. I went to Patterns for the first time since the rebrand, and I must say it does look really impressive, although a little bit on the hipster side for me. They’ve done a lot with the space and you can tell a lot of money has gone in to it. Now, when Patterns was formerly Audio, they had a great selection of cocktails that were reasonably priced, and also they were buy one get on free during the week. I was pleased to see that this was also the case at Patterns. until I got to the bar and discovered that only around 4 or 5 cocktails(only one of which was on the cocktail menu) was BOGOF. Not a massive dealbreaker, but slightly disappointing as the full menu used to be BOGOF when it was audio. I initially went for a gingerbread based cocktail that cost around £7.00 unfortunately the girl that served me seemed to have no idea what she was doing and asked other members of staff for help making the cocktail. She told me it’s a brand new menu so she was getting used to the cocktails. I gave her a free pass for that. however, the finished product not only looked disgusting, it also tasted disgusting. Looked like someone has been sick and then crumbled digestive biscuits on top. Extremely disappointing. Not one to be put off by a single bad cocktail, I opted for another one later in the evening(which was BOGOF) — I can’t remember what it was called but it was a prosecco based number. Again it was absolutely dreadful, and a struggle to drink the two. This was enough to put me off going to Patterns for cocktails ever again. I also ordered a hotdog while I was there, which at £6.50 was okay for the price but nothing amazing. TL;DR: Looks really nice inside, Cocktails are absolutely wack, food generally okay if you are into hotdogs.
