This is one of the newer branches of Small Batch in town(even though it’s been here a few years!) It’s not a branch I’ve had the pleasure of visiting very often, but each time I do I’m always satisfied. The staff are friendly and always up for a chat, I even got a free latte there once because I moaned that I was having a bad day! That certainly cheered me up. It’s airy and spacious inside and isn’t as busy as the other branches in town which is always a bonus for me.

The Seven Dials Small Batch is my favourite one. I ended up going here weekly before an appointment each Thursday for about 10 weeks and I loved it. The staff are super friendly. I loooved the days that they played classical music the best because it just felt really cool and relaxing. I wish they did a few gluten free food options because it would be nice to have a snack! I’ve had their hot chocolate, their flat white, and their mocha and all have been completely stellar.

Small Batch Coffee Company is a Brighton based roasting house that has just opened it’s latest branch on the Seven Dials roundabout, in what used to house Xuma Bar. I think this says a lot about the current climate and demands of local people as bars are seemingly replaced with coffee jobs on quite a regular basis. The premises are quite large and nicely decorated with plenty of tables and seats along the bar by the window. They only thing they are missing here is a nice comfy sofa! Although a lot of people were working on computers when we popped in, apparently they don’t have wifi which is a bit of a pain. The coffee is top quality(so says the boyf as I don’t like the stuff myself), and so is the tea — loose leaf and served in funky glass pots, providing at least three good cupfuls. There is nothing I hate more than paying an extortionate price for tea in a café and getting a teabag in hot water. I want my tea to be special and here I feel like it is. They don’t seem to sell any cold drinks at the moment but maybe they will introduce some in the warmer months, lets face it, who wants cold refreshments when there is snow on the ground. They do have a good selection of pizzas, filled rolls and sweet treats provided by a local bakery which I am sure I will sample on a future visit. This branch has only been open for a couple of weeks but I can see that it will be come a Seven Dials institution. We will definitely be back, especially as its right on our doorstep!
