Yay Flourpot bakery! I’m a little late to the party when it comes to these guys, however having been been a big fan of their deli on Jubilee Street I thought I knew it was time to try this one out. When you walk in you are greeted by an array of delicious looking breads, sandwiches and cakes. I went for a flat white with a mushroom and chorizo flatbread. It was a dream! The flat white was made to perfection and the flatbread filled the lunch-sized hole in my belly. I ended up staying for quite a while as I had to get some work done — This meant I just HAD to try a slice of the polenta, lemon and pistachio cake that was winking at me. Don’t judge me, I am a flirt when it comes to food! Overall I’m delighted with Flourpot. Great staff, great coffee, great bread and cakes! What more could you want? *Conveniently there is free WiFi, just ask for the password at the counter.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet. I love this place so much. It is the cosiest, friendliest little coffee shop with great pastries and cakes. Sandwiches are a little pricey, but I would pay for them just for the service. I don’t go a place twice if the staff are useless. I go here about 3 times a week. That says everything. Eddie is lovely, and the young French girl is the best(she helps me practice my French when I get shy and I appreciate that). Its personal service, everyone is the loveliest and the bakery is unreal. Oh, the Gluten Free bread is great too, as is the sourdough! Give them a go. I’ll be back for my almond milk latte. Thanks again, guys.

My sister took me here two months ago before I moved to Brighton. I was living in a boring retirement town where paninis were exotic for café menus and when I tried the coffee here, it was the final push I needed to move to Brighton. This place literally made me move house to be closer to it.

Seriously good bakery(we use the elm grove one) their bacon and sausage brioche buns are different level as are their sausage rolls. Coffee is nice also. Always take away so can’t comment on service when eating in but staff are always helpful and happy to recommend breads etc. glad it’s a few mins walk away.

I’m always a fan of a place that bakes good bread. It’s impossible to walk past somewhere with the smell of freshly cooked bread wafting out! I often pop in for a loaf of their sourdough which is delicious. I can also vouch for the focaccia and the sausage rolls, all really tasty. Today, I ate in for the first time. There are only a few tables at the back but if you can get a seat, it’s worth stopping for tea and cake. Today we tried the carrot cake and the polenta cake, both yummy. The staff are really friendly too, and the atmosphere is nice. There is just enough room to squeeze in with the pushchair so will definitely be back.

Lovely and welcoming bakery in the North Lanes. Came in for tea and treats and we’ve been meaning to go back again. The treats were incredible! I got the shortbread and it was perfect alongside my hot tea. My friend got a slice of cake and that was equally as good. We walked out with a bread roll to go with dinner and it made the perfect garlic bread. Love this place

We generally love the small Artisan bakery with is eclectic design and great flavours . However last week we bought 2 slices of Carrot cake which seemed small in fact they were 115 grams… we had them before and they were quite delicious but a very different size. Today we again bought 2 slices of the aforementioned cake and found their weight to be 211 grams… this was more in keeping with other times we had bought from them. It’s very embarrassing to moan about a small slice in the shop… after all what do you compare it to ? What this means is that staff are all or partly unaware of portion control… The experience made me a bit upset as one can’t avoid the thought of being taken advantage of ? It’s not a cheap bakery and so quality is what will sell… both taste appearance and consistency when it comes to cakes that have to be sliced?

Lovely North Laine local bakery and coffee shop. Enjoyed a very tasty coffee here, with water provided on a hot day, and had some delicious pizza too. The best thing is the location in a great shopping area with a lack of places to sit outside and watch the world go by. We sat in the afternoon sun doing a spot of people watching. It’s a really good addition to this part of the Laines. I’m sure we’ll be back many times.

Bread is my kryptonite, especially really good bread, so it’s difficult to describe the mix of horror and ecstacy that washed over me as I spied this recent addition to the North Laines. I could see our torrid romance flash before my eyes — I want you, but you’re no good for me, oh my god you’re amazing, oh my god I regret everything. And that’s basically how it went down. I walked in and immediately my mouth started ordering faster than my brain could moderate. I was already committed to a salt beef sandwich and a morroccan sausage roll before my senses kicked in and put the breaks on dessert. They warmed up the sausage roll for me(and they will also warm up any warming-appropriate sandwich, which my salt beef was not) and I literally started eating it from the bag as I walked away down the street like a crazy hobo. It was delicious — the pastry perfectly warm and flaky, the meat well-seasoned and savoury. Then I started eating the sandwich, which I finished as I walked to the bus stop to commute to work. The crust of the bread had the perfect mild crunch, with the seeds giving it that perfect nutty malty edge, all of which harmonized beautifully with the salt beef, mustard, mild horseradish and cheese with the perfect sprinkling of bitter greens. Wait, wasn’t that my lunch? I stopped in a much more drab bakery café in an attempt to purchase«second lunch» at the other end of my bus trip, but just felt depressed and left. It was no Flour Pot. Needless to say, I really enjoyed my lunch, but I didn’t find it particularly filling, which brings down the value for money. Was it just me? Are there narcotics in the food? Or maybe their portions are just a bit on the reasonable side(which I’m apparently saying as if it’s a bad thing), and I’m just a ravenous bread monster. Which is probably true. If you see someone huddled on the corner with their head half engulfed in a Flour Pot Bakery bag, just keep walking and pretend I’m not there.

What a find — thank you Joy H! :D This place must have just cropped up out of nowhere as last time I walked by it was something entirely different, but I am very glad it’s appeared! Based in the bustling North Laines, The Flour Pot Bakery is simple and welcoming inside. It’s tiny, for starters but the simplicity of the place is refreshing and all of the food looked fresh and beautiful! There was one small table and chairs inside, but the majority were set-up outside in the dappled sun. We sat outside with our coffees and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the surrounding streets. The menu is great here — they serve both regular hot coffees and iced ones, perfect for a warm day like it was! They also had a really lovely water holder, with some lemons and leaves inside. It looked really pretty and tasted delicious — a nice change to the boring free water that’s often available in cafes! It’s small touches like this that made the place so lovely. The décor was fab — I assure you I’ll be back to take some photographs –and there was big loaves of bread lying around that looked absolutely wonderful! As a massive bread lover, it’s something I will be trying, without a doubt. My flat white was lovely — really smooth and the coffee taste was great. The water was refreshing and sitting outside can’t be beat! All in all, a great experience. I urge you to go and discover it for yourself! :)

The Flour Pot is a lovely new addition to the North Laines! The décor is simple and quaint inside. They also provide outdoor seating right in front of the shop so you can enjoy the sunshine with your drink and/or cake. The offer a variety snacks from gorgeous tarts to flat italian pizzas and also beautiful selection of bread. The drink menu includes the usual hot drinks and also iced coffee. They have an attractive water dispenser infused with lemons and cucumber on the side which is definitely refreshing after a hot cuppa. The service is quick and friendly and they offer a frequent customer card here as well. Would definitely come back for more!
