In the word of a famous anti-drugs campaign: Just say no!
It’s not that I object to seeing people looking sun-kissed all year round. It’s just that whatever they tell us about sunshine and vitamin D, we all know deep down that it’s much healthier to get a tan from swimming, walking and general exposure to the sun than exposing ourselves to ultra-violet rays on a sunbed. Aside from the small, short and long-term health risks — going to The Tanning Shop is damn expensive. The advert outside suggests you can get a tan for *less than 40p a minute* but you have to book a lot of sessions to get it down to that price.
