I have a theory as to why so many people like going on Wild River: I think non-​fairground lovers go on it to appease their friends and partners and fairground fans go on it to build up their courage for the bigger, scarier rides like Ranger, Booster and Crazy Mouse.
Whilst it’s not as fast as the log flumes at Alton Towers and Blackpool Leisure Beach, Wild River is a pretty good flume. It has two drops and you get an enviable view of Brighton sea-​front before being plunged down the drop and through a shower of freezing cold water. The person sat at the front not only gets squashed by who-ever’s lined up behind them but they always seem to get drenched the most too. You might want to consider this before jumping in the boat!
