Born has a great selection of all things you’d want from a shop created for newborns. I went in here to find a gift for my friend’s new born baby boy. I was surprised that the items weren’t pricey at all. Maybe for students it is a little pricey, but there were loads of really good-​quality items perfect for presents. My favourite was the yellow all-​in-​one suit with bumble bees on it. So cute!!! That was £15 which is pricey for something which a baby is going to ruin and grow out of very quickly, but great for a special present.

Born is a very large shop by Gloucester Road standards and sells a vast selection of Nursery equipment.
Prices aren’t bad and you will no doubt be able to find what you are looking for here. I would say they have a much broader range of products than the Early Learning Centre, and it would save you a trip into town.

This was my absolute favourite baby shops when I lived in Bristol. It’s small, but perfectly formed. They stock a wide range of cloth nappies, ethical baby clothes, parenting books, toys, baby slings, nursery furniture and pushchairs. It’s great if you’re after something a little different, or simply if you just want to look at some high quality baby items.
The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They’re always willing to offer advice. I had a cloth nappy demonstration here which was very useful and helped me to make the decision to use cloth on my babies — something that I have never regretted. They have a helpful newsletter, too. Definitely worth a trip.
