One of the smaller, less intimidating shops on St Philip’s Causeway, Brantano Footwear has this going for it at least. However, if you’re looking for shoe originality you certainly won’t find it here. I popped into this shop for a browse the other day and was pretty shocked at the lack of progression Brantano Footwear has made from the nineties. The female sandal department is dire, containing little else but tacky looking loafers and a few ridiculously high heeled numbers. Moving onto the boot department, I was also pretty dismayed to find a smattering of Ugg type boots (yawn) and some more rather overpriced knee-high numbers. The shop does boast a pretty good selection of children’s footwear, however, and also sells an extensive selection of bags.
