One of the more glamorous establishments on Bedminster Parade, Dance World is a dancer’s paradise. Catering for all types of dance kit, including shoes, clothes, make-​up, accessories and exam wear, the beauty of this shop lies in its attention to detail. Not only is it guaranteed to fulfill a dancer’s every need, but its staff are also highly adept at window displays. Next time you’re passing, I’d recommend you take a moment to stop and admire this visual feast. It certainly lends a touch of sophistication to the street’s otherwise unkempt vibe.

If the Strictly Ballroom craze has got you up on your twinkle toes, then this surely has to be your next step. A fantastical shop with dancewear bedecked with sequins and ribbon, but most importantly you’ll be here for the professional advice from the staff. They have an online shop which ships worldwide so they clearly know their arabesque from their fallaway.
Also handy for those am-​drams as they stock stage makeup, including tattoo cover up and body paint.

For all your tap, ballet, jazz and modern dance needs (or those of your talented kids) head on down to this, the most unlikely of locations for Dance World. Bemmie high street is rather naff in general, but this shops stocks everything from shoes, leotards, tutus and makeup to sheet music.
The claret exterior and carpeted floors and the most contemporary, but if you’re a dancer you can look past that to the helpful staff (who I imagine may have been ex-​dancers themselves) and the bargain prices.
