We used to like this place, but we ordered on friday night and it was terrible. We were told it would take an hour to arrive which is almost unacceptable but we waited because we previously had enjoyed the food, it actually took an hour and a half to get here! It was not worth the wait, the food was cold, we had to microwave both meals but the worst was that they had totally overcooked the sweet and sour chicken balls and they were rock hard and dry. and cold. I have binned their menu and implore anyone to avoid ordering from them on a busy night, as it seems standards go out of the window.

The portions are huge and the prices are low, but on the one occasion I ate from there, it was not great quality food and absolutely nothing like authentic Japanese. I ordered gyoza, which were OK-ish, but basically Chinese spring rolls in a gyoza shape. My ‘main’ was terrible. I ordered spicy beef noodles. I received a tub of cheap ‘super noodles’ style noodles, with loads of beef on top, but it was like eating tasteless chunks of rubber and I had to throw most of it away. My partner had the katsu curry, which wasn’t bad, but again not at all authentic had a rather coconutty flavour.

This place is sort of two places combined; one side is Peking, Szechuan, Cantonese, Vegetarian and Thai food, and one side is Japanese, and it’s all on one menu, so you can order from home and receive a very eclectic supper indeed! The Japanese food is delicious, in surprisingly huge portions. I tried the Karai Chicken Ramen and they delivered enough noodles with yummy chargrilled chicken to go around about three people — and it only cost £6. Together my friend and I had so much food it was almost embarrassing. Luckily her boyfriend arrived later and hoovered up the rest of it! Given the portion sizes, it would be very possible to spend only around £8 here and have plenty of dinner for three people. The only negative I have to say is that we were seriously thirsty for a whole day after eating this food. I don’t know if it had very high extra salt content, or if we just chose naturally salty things, but we did suffer a bit as a result of eating this food, which is a shame as it was very delicious at the time.

This has rapidly become my favourite take away due to offering a different and wider range from the usual noodle joints. I have yet to make my way to the Chinese part of the menu due to being completely stuck on the japanese style offerings. The choice is fantastic and it seems their vegetarian offerings are no less inspiring than the fish and meat dishes. The top picks for me at the moment are the vegetable tempura — good range of veg, not too greasy, served with a lovely ginger soya sauce dip and the yasai chilli men — noodles in a medium hot chilli sauce with big chunks of tofu and veg. Whether going in to collect or having a delivery the service has been very prompt and friendly. You also get a great amount of food for a good price and a £15 spend has been enough to feed two of us lunch and dinner.

A flyer for this place came through our door so we decided to try it. I’m assuming it’s take-away only since I’ve never been by there and it doesn’t say anything on the menu. One side of the menu is all Japanese food: no sushi, but noodle dishes, ramen, don buri, and bento boxes. They also do Japanese salads and side dishes. The other side of the menu is a mixture of Chinese and Thai. There is a set meal section for these foods but not the Japanese meals. I didn’t know what to expect, and ordered a few items(any order over £12 is delivered free) which came faster than the time quoted on the phone. The food was well made, hot and tasty. I’ve tried various combos of food and sometimes end up with too much to eat! The bento boxes are good and come with miso soup. I’ve not tried any of the Chinese options, but have tried the Thai which is also very nice and large portioned. It’s reasonably priced, always arrives hot and is great value for money.
