An independent and individual restaurant. We have been going there for years, and it has always been consistently good. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good portions of tasty Italian food, especially the pizzas, and very reasonable prices. What more can you ask for? Down with the Mega-chains. My girlfriend and I visited on Valentine’s Day. Making a reservation over the phone was simple and straightforward. Much of the interior decoration is straight out the 1980s, not that I am saying that is a bad thing at all. In fact, we enjoyed not having to deal with glass tables, irregular novelty crockery, and lights in the floor. A good, simple three-course meal with a bottle of wine. We were both very pleased with out menu choices. To start my Girlfriend and I chose the field mushroom with blue cheese and parma ham. For the main course my girlfriend enjoyed the steak in a white wine and mushroom sauce and I chose the spigola al forno. We both enjoyed an absolutely delicious tiramisu. Considering the quality of the menu, the prices were very agreeable. The restaurant became very busy throughout the evening, and this is not surprising considering the good reputation this restaurant must have, plus it was Valentine’s Day. It was not the most quiet and intimate of evenings, with the large groups and the bright lights, and we didn’t have the best of tables: in the corner next to the stairs leading to the first floor and toilets. The service we received more than made up for these slight misgivings. We shall definitely visit here again and I am planning a lunch-time visit with a group of friends.

This is a great Italian restaurant in the heart of Bristol with pleasant décor, friendly and attentive staff, a lively but laid back atmosphere, and decent food. Europa gives rival city centre Italian Sergio’s a good run for its money, but thankfully it will burn a far smaller hole in your pocket. One criticism I do have is that Europa’s menu is overwhelmingly large; if you haven’t dined there before you could spend half your evening wading through the menu just trying to decide what to order. There are some interesting dishes on offer, though, and it makes a change from those Italians that only serve pizza and pasta. There were five of us dining — two having pizza, one ordering pasta, and two going for meat dishes — and all of our meals were tasty and well-cooked. I wouldn’t say the food was particularly exceptional, but we all really enjoyed our overall experience and will be back there in the future. One tip: book ahead if you want to dine here at weekends, It’s justifiably popular and often all the tables are booked up in advance.

I had a meal here last night and was pleasntly suprised by the quality of food — from the outside I wasn’t quite sure but we were hungry and it was getting late so we gave them a chance! The staff all seemed Italian, and the boss man was very friendly in that on-holiday-restaurant kind of way. I had the pâté to start, which was nice enough, then a pizza — I can never resist the pizza option. It was huge and hung over the edge of the plate all round, there was no way I could eat all of it! We we offered the dessert menu but partly from being too full and partly from not being taken in my the picture-dessert-list(it always makes me think they migh be frozen rather than fresh) i can’t recommened the best one! If your in town, and don’t want a chain, come here.

Another excellent Italian restaurant — this one is competing with Sergio’s for the title of the cities best in my opinion. It doesn’t look too promising from the outside — a little like a cliché of a Italian restaurant with a its pastel paint scheme and arched writing. Don’t let this put you off though, once you’re inside it feels genuinely Italian, with vines creeping up the walls and accented waiters. The prices are really quite good for somewhere this nice in the city centre — It’s much less than some of the places on Corn Street and a lot classier than the ones it’s more expensive than. The menu’s comprehensive, not just a couple a pizzas. Whilst they’re not too busy, I haven’t been here with it too quiet to kill the atmosphere. Certainly doesn’t have the get-you-in-get-you-fed-get-you-out that city centre places can sometimes have — it’s got much more of a family feel than that. Europa offers an excellent city centre Italian dining experience at a cheap price.

Just on the corner of St Stephens Street and Baldwin Street, Europa is an excellent family run Italian restaurant. It has a real rustic Italian style inside, with wooden tables, stone walls, and vines creeping around the interior walls. The best thing on the menu is the Gabriella pasta, which has chicken and avocado in delightful creamy sauce, well worth a try, and at under £8 Europa offers absolute value for money. The staff are extremely friendly in their Italian european kind of way, and come here more than once and they’re bound to remember your face.

Visited this restaurant 02/08/2009.It was our 34th wedding anniversary(total irrelavance, but never mind). Exellent food, very good value for money, staff as stated in the other review are indeed very friendly and eager to please. It was very busy when we were there, but they still had time to chat and made us feel very relaxed. If you like very good Italian food that is actually prepared by an Italian who takes pride in his craft then give this one a try.

the staff are great, have a good sense of humour — heres youre bacardi and coke, i only wanted a diet coke, thats what ive given you. Hehe.(you have to be there to experience it) Good food, good service and quick. most important nice staff.(if you’re more than three feet across the shoulders as a man you’ll have a problem with the wee wee bowl, but all i can say to that is tough love. Its a great restaurant, right in the centre of town(Baldwin Street). you should eat there if you like italian food. yum yum.
