Fungs Noodle Bar

The menu is extremely varied offering a delightful mix of flavours. Ordering my food over the telephone with the staff is effortless -(They have two telephone numbers incase one is engaged.) I have never had a wait greater than 10 minutes when opting to collect my order. Food tastes great. Fungs is definitely my preferred chinese take away.

I have ony ever eaten takeaway from here and I think that although it bills itself as a «noodle bar» it’s not really the most atmospheric place. The quality of the food I can’t fault however. Fung’s has been in our takeaway fixture list for some years. The food is fairly classic, nothing too exciting, but always reliably good, not too MSG laden (something that gives me migraines) and well-​priced. The menu is extensive, with absolutely loads of options. The starters are always a great shout whether its the Dimsums, the barbecue spare ribs or the spring rolls. I like their lemon chicken too and this is a dish that not many takeaways locally get righ. They also do great noodle dishes and have tofu options for most things so are veggie-​friendly. I absolutely dig their special black bean sauce.

If you want a cheap and cheerful Chinese then you can’t really do much better than Fungs. The décor isn’t much to right home about, it’s little more than a takeaway with a couple of tables in, but there’s much to admire here.
The service is extremely friendly, the menu is almost as big as the portions and the prices are extremely reasonable. The ultimate example of this is the two courses for £6 offer which means this place is usually busy. Not the place to go on a first date, but if you’re in a group, have a had a few and need to fuel up, this is highly recommended.

Great food, extremely affordable (Where else in town can you find a two-​course lunch or dinner for £6?!), with a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
Located on the quieter part of Gloucester Road, this hidden gem can easily be missed by the casual passer-​by. Don’t let its humble exterior fool you — Fungs means business.
The staff at Fungs are the icing on the cake — friendly and always ready to offer assistance with their extensive menu.
