A more expansive shop than you would expect, with a suprisingly wide range of furniture. Popular with those who have a bit of money to spend on making their home that extra bit more specially, adding something that Ikea just can’t supply them with. Being relatively out of the way you would think that no one really knows of it, but if you go asking bout in the area for a certain item people will point you towards Hotwells pine.

Hotwells Road’s got a bit of an odd stretch of shops here. Nothing in particular seems to prosper here and so you get a hodge-podge that includes a pub, a Chinese take-away, and Hotwells Pine. Despite not being near to anything else vaguely homeware related it’s still worth making a trip out here to have a look at what they’ve got As the name suggest the stock here is all pine. They do antique, new, and bespoke furniture, with prices varying accordingly. Whilst I would like to kit my house out in specifically made cupboards and beds, the second hand range is extensive. As well as furniture they’ve got odd bits of bric-à-brac and art(not all this made from pine), another way to spend some money filling up your home. Hotwells Pine offers a big range of good quality pine furniture.

So much great pine furniture(old & new)… so completely different from Ikea. No flat-packed MDF rubbish for sale here. In fact, we just went and bought our ‘forever’ bed from here(sounds twee I know) — a classic frame for less than £200. On the outside its clear that the shop has been converted from a Victorian house. Inside, the space is much bigger than you would think. They stuff plenty of chest of drawers, clocks, prints and wardrobes in, without it looking overcrowded or difficult to shop.

You would never guess from the outside that this house-converted-to-shop is such a tardis. Walk in and you discover a labyrinth of rickety rooms full of treasures — new and antique pine, furniture, prints, mirrors, clocks, etc. The gentleman working there is very friendly and will help you find yet another room you didn’t realise you could explore. Definitely a place you want to visit when planning or doing any renovations /redecoration to your place — you will get great ideas and /or find a really special piece for your home… not a piece of mass produced Ikea furniture(don’t get me wrong, a brilliant store in its own right) that you will find in every Tom, Dick and Harry’s place. They do home deliveries and are closed on Mondays.
