When I moved house I came here looking for a dinning table and just a little inspiration in general. I wasn’t expecting to find much as the furniture in the window looked a little out of my price range but I was happy to see plenty of ornaments, clocks and chinaware on offer too. The shop assistant, or possibly owner, was very friendly and helpful, listing to what I wanted but not pushing any products on me. She gave me a card with the web address and explained that all of the furniture sourced often comes with matching items and they can order in anything that takes your fancy. There were a few things on sale but still a little out of my price range. There are some great farmhouse style side tables and some colourful clocks by Thomas Kent. I would definitely recommend visiting this shop if you’re moving house or just looking for something special to brighten up your home.

When I first moved to my new flat in Bristol there was one thing I completely forgot to buy; a mirror. I’m not talking a dinky make up mirror — what I need was a floor length version which would show me that I was still wearing slippers with my work outfit. So I hurried down to Clifton Village in pursuit of one! This turned out to be a harder task than I originally found. Luckily I came across Inspirations, and even more luckily they were having a sale! The helpful staff quickly helped me pick the right one for me in terms of size and price. If they hadn’t had the sales, most of their items would be out of my budget, but it’s a lovely furniture shop selling everything from lamps to armchairs.

With a massive sign in their window claiming ‘internet prices’, Inspirations Furniture left me a little bit dubious as to the quality and type of stock they sold. However, it is a really excellent home furnishings shop, with lamps, mirrors, armchairs, photo frames — the list goes on. In my mind I categorise it with the kind of shop that you go to to make your house that little bit nicer with slightly pointless items, when you can afford to do so. That’s not me belittling the items, though, as there are some really beautiful things — there were a few lamps, for example, that I would really love to have. The shop assistant was very friendly, and the prices ranged from around £10 for the simpler gift items to over £100 for large furnishings, such as big ornamental mirrors. A pretty good shop, worth a visit to inspire some interior design impulses.
