Best place to get your kebab fix after a night out at Bunker, Lizard Lounge, Po Na Na’s, anywhere. Dearly beloved of all Bristol students.

This glorious Kebab van named Jason Donnervan is not only a wonderful pun on everyone’s favourite 90s pop icon, but also a Bristol University post-​night out institution. The streets are lined with drunk students looking for a quick fix eat, and the Donnervan provides in spades. Rather than compare it with say a restaurant that serves burgers with 30% plus beef it is fairer to compare the Donnervan with the various other kebab houses that I have sampled around Bristol. Compared to these the Donnervan comes out as the clear winner for cheesy chips, lashings of artificial sauces and kebabs alike. My friend Sam insists that the salad-​to-​bun-​to-​burger ratio is unparalleled.

I don’t often indulge in post night out junk, but Donnervan is one of the few places that I will get myself some cheesy chips. It is not just Donnervan’s location, right in front of habitat, that draws the big crowds they also do mean chips.
The big crowd of drunks stumbling into each other means you always have something funny to watch while you are guzzling your chips down. I have often wondered what type of things you would see if you rigged up a camera above the van! Needless to say this is a great spot for people watching, even if you don’t like to indulge yourself after a night out.
