Another average pub to join the others on Staple Hill High Street. It now claims to do food but for me this is a drinkers only pub.
It’s a big place so you’ll never be short of space but the bar area is rather cramped so you may have find yourself standing and waiting for a gap for a while. It’s the only pub in Staple Hill that has Sky/Setanta so it’s good for the sports but not the kind of place to take your better half for a nice night out.
Nothing special is sold behind the bar, and the real ales are nothing more than average. Go here for the game but little else.

Cheap and good drinks! It was described to me just yesterday as a place where you can buy a round and still have change from a fiver! Really impressive. The atmosphere is nice and there are board games for those board with just alcohol and chat. They make the best chilli burger with actual chillies and sweet chilli sauce in the bun. The food is affordable and the drinks are their own brand. The cider is lovely and the soda water is free. There are booths for the extra intimacy and the location is very close to the centre.
