I have finally found the worst place to eat in Bristol. The Steak House is actually a shoddy looking pub with a small, scruffy room at the back. The food is well below pub grub level yet the price is almost £20 a steak. The staff didn’t know what sparkling water was, the ‘chef’ came in not to say hello but to turn Eastenders on to watch. The final punishment was the smell of BO as he walked past at the end of the meal. Avoid at all costs!

Whenever I see the words ‘Steak house’ I am immediatley drawn in! My mum cooks these amazing thick, thick, thick… did I say thick? steaks that are heat sealed. So when you cut into it the meat is juicy and red and tastes so so good. I always expect a similar service at Steak houses and they never seem to match up. Obviousley steaks arn’t the only things on offer and there is also a night life that can be had, but it’s all a bit tacky. Of course the plus with Irish steak house is the Irish drinks! A nice whiskey and Guinness can be had!

Another slightly tacky looking restaurant around the back of the Hippodrome on Denmark Street, Mickey Lavins guarentees you one of the best nights out in Bristol, so they say. They’re a specialist steak house, grilling your meat to perfection, and nothing helps it down better than a pint of Guinness. Visit on a Saturday for their Kareoke night or if you prefer actua music, they host live entertainment on Fridays.
