They’re being a little ambitious with the name, this place would look somewhat out of place in the city it takes its name from. This place isn’t overly basic though, simple without slipping into dodgy greasy spoon territory Expect comfort food at decent prices. They’ve branched out a bit further that just fried breakfasts — the lunch menu includes moussaca and other positively exotic(by British café standards) offerings. Pieminister pies also feature on the menu. The fried breakfasts are why you should come here though, with the slices of fried potato being particularly good, all crunchy and moreish. You get plenty for your cash, and I recommend coming here about half eleven or so for a late brunch as it should fill you up all the way until dinner time.

Not as bad as it looks from outside, a bit scruffy, a bit basic. Is that a recommendation? Well yes, I suppose it is. I believe it is Polish owned, and man do they do a good take on a full English(better than many other greasy spoons in the vicinity). Head here after a night out — you don’t even need to go home first, smeared make-up and bad hair appears to be de rigeur with the clientele — in the nicest possible taste. The breakfasts are hearty and full, the cups of tea strong and endless — that’s all you need(plus a good squeeze of proper Heinz ketchup or Daddies sauce). Veggie breakfasts are also on the menu and so are a range of filling hot lunchtime meals such as moussaka, chops, sausage & mash and lasagne. Don’t expect frills or comfy chairs — do expect good grub served with a smile.

A great little local café in the style of a «greasy spoon», although this place is spotless and it’s food far from greasy. This is the perfect place to head after a night out on the sauce for a good old English breakfast and endless cuppas to soak up last nights liquid refreshment. Veggie breakfasts are also on the menu and so is a broad variety of lunchtime meals such as moussaka, chops, sausage & mash and lasagne. Very reasonably priced with friendly service and closes mid afternoon.
