Having moved to the area a couple of months ago, we are yet to find a decent chippy. Pearl city is ok, my husband is not a massive fan of Chinese food so it’s takes a lot of persuading to get him to agree to one.
I’m not sure we’d be rushing back here, it was reasonable priced and the Chow mien was good, as was the sweet and sour chicken but my quest to find a good Chinese takeaway in the area must go on!

Pearl City is a fine establishment on Fishponds Road serving up some pretty good traditional Chinese cuisine. It may be for the slightly more energetic fan of takeaway seeing as they don’t deliver, but then sometimes that’s half the fun of going out for a takeaway.
They have a big selection of dishes to chose from up on the wall in their spacious shop. Big windows and clean table tops give a professional and efficient vibe — important seeds to plant in the head of the potential customer. The food is always pretty snappy, nice tasting and not too fatty. They’re open to a spot of bartering here or there on things like free prawn crackers with big orders, and they’ve even got a nice selection of magazines and newspapers on offer.
