A great little Italian — delicious food and great service, I highly recommend it.

We used to be a regular takeaway customer of Piazza di Roma, but we have stopped being a customer here after several bad experiences, but especially since the disrespect and rudeness we experienced last week from the restaurant manager. When things go wrong with Piazza di Roma and if you have the audacity to call them up on it, they fly off the handle at you, they call you rude and completely forget about any concept of customer service. When we first moved to the area, we dined here a couple of times but we found their food(lasagna and risotto) average at best and their staff were not very friendly or attentive. The pizzas were better though. We tried these afterwards as takeaway. We stumbled across in one of our orders on their garlic focaccia bread, which became a favourite, so we started ordering this on a regular basis. A recent order was however very disappointing and when we complained, the manager never apologised. All he did was suggest, with a grumpy attitude, that we specify the original recipe when next ordered. Last week, we did just that. I called to place our usual order, however, the restaurant manager received me with hostility and rudeness. He kept talking over me and increasingly raising his voice: he was adamant that I was wrong regarding the last pizza order being terrible and even implied I was lying about what had been wrong with it. He proceeded to shout over to the chef and refer to me as «that woman that complained last time» to get the chef’s view on that order. My husband and guests had heard the whole conversation over the speakerphone and were aghast with how crudely the manager had spoken to me(and of me). This was the last straw. I was very upset. I told him that my husband and I, being the only two people that had tasted the pizza, were the only two people in a position to comment on how good or bad the pizza had been. I hanged up after pointing out that his chef had indeed messed up, but instead of an apology and to keep us as regular customers, he had chosen during the entire call to be rude, disrespectful and to act like an idiot. And for these reasons, we were taking our business elsewhere. The funny thing is that the restaurant manager had the cheek, after all he had said and done, to say that I was the one being rude. We are all for supporting local and independent businesses, but this doesn’t mean we are happy to tolerate bad service, poor food and rude staff! I urge you to take your business elsewhere and avoid this place like the plague. There are much better establishments out there that actually know how to treat customers and consistently prepare good food.

Wonderful place! Saved us on a recent trip. The pizza was excellent, and salads among the best we’ve had. But the best was the service. Impeccable! More than we could have hoped for.

Charming family-run Italian restaurant, nicely situated at the top of Whiteladies Road. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and there is an effortlessly genuine feel about the place. The food was excellent, especially considering the price. Pizzas were authentic and traditionally cooked, our starters were also far above average. Service was a little slow, as the restaurant was short-staffed at the time, although the friendliness and politeness more than made up for that. All in all, hard to fault; a delightful experience and excellent food at a reasonable price.

Lovely little independent Italian restaurant at the top of Blackboy Hill. We went without booking on a busy Saturday evening and they squeezed us in. Very friendly staff and the food is delicious. They also do takeaway if you’re inclined to stay in.

I really like this place. Small and comforting, warm and welcoming, I just feel so much more inclined to spend my money in small independent ventures such as this, they just really care; they care about everything from finding the freshest ingredients to caring about how the meal sits on your plate. It’s really well priced here too, pizza’s from just under £7 but mostly around the £9 mark and pastas around the same. Look out for the specials too! As far as I am aware they don’t open on a Monday.

This is a little portion of Italian passion on Whiteladies that i could not recommend more highly. It is true to what a pizza should be, and manages to retain a bright and colourful atmosphere that will bring you back time and again. The table cloths are for some reason the thing that stands out the most to me, they are the easy-wipe type that you on ever find on the continent. the restaurant pours its charm out of its large french windows when the weather is nice, perfect for an early supper in the summer. Be sure not to miss out.

A very pretty little pizza(though spelt piazza, for some reason) restaurant on Whiteladies Road, this little independent business is tip top at delivering authentic Italian Pizzas, and the enthusiasm of the Sicilian owner and chef can be tasted in every morsel — «what he doesn’t know about food isn’t worth knowing», says their website. The food is very reasonably priced considering the quality of meals on offer, and the pizzas are slightly cheaper than the slightly gimmickier Planet Pizza restaurant. I particularly love the Fiorentina, which comes with ham, spinach and an egg on top!
