Not a bad burger at all. But the service was very slow so it made me a little annoyed at times. I think that they have a great idea there but it needs refining as the set up is not very organised so seems amateurish at times.

I don’t know what all these bad reviews are about, the food is scrumptious, the service great, decent prices and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Great before a night out or before meeting a stranger for a threesome. Friendly staff(jellyfish are fake).

Competition for upmarket burger bars is fierce these days and ‘Three Brothers Burgers’ is one of the latest additions(reinventions?) to the Bristol scene. Went there on a Friday evening with two friends prior to a night out. The waitress had serious attitude and was less than helpful. The burger I ordered was tasty but rather small. The drinks list offered an array of, mainly bottled, craft beers. I was surprised that in a city with a rich brewing heritage, they didn’t offer at least one local real ale on draught. An optional service charge of 5% is added to the bill which might explain why the waitress didn’t feel the need to make much of an effort. I have had better dining experiences in Bristol.

A burger bar on a boat. I came here on a lunchtime and the service was very slow. We were kept waiting for nearly 30 minutes after ordering. Burgers and chips shouldn’t take that long to prepare. They even knew we were coming because there was a booking and the restaurant wasn’t busy when we got there. The novelty of being on a boat and having a nice view of the river soon wore off. The vegetation burger was disappointing. It was basically one large mushroom and some cheese in a bun. It didn’t really work as a burger! I was pleased to leave because it wasn’t a comfortable temperature in the restaurant. It was a warm day and the boat soon warmed up. It was like sitting in an unventilated conservatory. The only positive thing was the price. £5 for burger and chips.

Pretty poor to be honest. Disappointing. The burger itself — looks great. I wasn’t too keen on it though. It seemed very processed. I’d be surprised if they made them in house. The cheese was cheap and plastic like, as you’d expect in a McDonald’s. I liked how it looked in there, nice fire on and some good tunes playing out. The lunch time deal was only a fiver, so I guess you get what you pay for. Cheap burgers in this instance. I drove 40 miles to try it, so I’m the idiot here really.

After visiting a show at the Old Vic we were super hungry. We saw this place on the walk there and decided to give it a try. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who told us the wait would be 10mins but if we wanted to grab a drink at the bar it wouldn’t be long and I wasn’t. One of the things that really stuck out for us in this place was that they actually give you space to eat and until you experience it, you don’t realise what a rarity and pleasure it is to have! We had burgers with bacon, cheese, crispy onions and BBQ relish which I would recommend along with a side of chilli cheese fries. Everything was very tasty and our only gripe was that the chips could have been a little warmer and the chilli was mince and brisket which was nice but strange. The staff were very friendly and the food was prompt. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

This is a simple but wonderful restaurant. There was about 16 of us which is not an easy size group to deal with but the staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful and i don’t think they got anything wrong either! We all had a multitude of drinks from complicated shakes to mulled cider and various beers and i was very excited to get a root beer float in the UKYUMMY. All arrived fairly promptly despite the complicated order. We had some starters, Chilli Cheese Fries and fried pickles, these were tasty and stopped those of us that were peckish from gnawing our arms off as everyone arrived. We all had various burgers and although the selection is good all of them are simple but the taste is fantastic. I went for the Mega Burger, an absolute delight brioche bun with 2 patties, 2 cheese and 2 helpings of bacon, my kinda style for sure. The meat was awesome and they look mouthwatering from seeing them stack up on the hot plate. The bun is not quite sturdy enough to survive the whole meal but it did not ruin my enjoyment. The fries were awesome also. I really really enjoyed the meal the atmosphere and the whole experience. The staff were also good about dividing the bill into a million pieces which some places hate doing. Its worth adding we did have to pay a deposit for a group this size so if large numbers call and sort in advance, they just refund the deposit as needed on the day or remove from the bill. I will certainly be pointing people in the direction of this place and maybe taking friends as soon as i get the chance. If you are up for a basic but very tasty burger get yourself on this boat ASAP!

We shared a cheeseburger and chilli fries. Burger was pretty good although the patty was very slightly too finely minced, giving it a slightly meatball-y consistency. Otherwise spot on. The chilli fries were ok. I was expecting something a bit stodgier and in your face gooey-ier akin to stuff I’ve had in the US but it was a bit on the constrained side. Not bad but it lacked a little oomph. Beers are pricey. Their largest sizes are 2⁄3 pints but cost equivalent to pint sizes you’d find elsewhere.

This store serves justly simple menu. BBQ is their specialty and mostly to offer but they also have a few side dishes like fries and onion rings.

Although the food selection isn’t vast what there is is very well cooked and the service is pleasant. Their sangria is good and a nice place to relax and have a chilled evening meal

Reasonable enough venue for stag night steaks at the start of July(the groom however had to remonstrate with a stroppy chef about the fact that his supposedly hot crab was stone cold), service pretty decent, prices average & meat of good quality(I had no issues with my onglet).

The Spyglass is situated just over the Apple and down the way from the Glassboat. It doesn’t have the romantic atmosphere of the Glassboat or the cool charm of The Apple. It does however do a pretty tasty burger at a reasonable price. Its a good place to go for lunch with a group of people. The terrace area has lights strung up making it seem more festive if sitting outside than the Apple. I heard the food used to be a lot more spectacular so perhaps Spyglass needs to up its game, but hey its another venue on boat which is never a bad thing! I love the fact that Bristol is such a charming floating city.

I love all of the things that make the most of Bristol’s historical harbourside, and that includes moored-up restaurants such as Spyglass. Floating just down from Bristol Bridge in the centre of town, the charred-meat smell emerging from this casual barbecue restaurant is enough to lure you in on a summer evening — even those like me who don’t usually eat that much meat. It’s a bit tatty, to be honest, but the pleasant setting and semi-outdoors feel makes it a good place to spend a balmy evening when you don’t feel like going indoors just yet. The menu is pretty straightforward but well-prepared, mainly consisting of barbecued meats(chicken, steak, sausages, burgers, etc), plus bowls of chips and various green salads — all best washed down with a few beers. The prices aren’t too bad either, so I’d happily go back there if the the weather ever improves.

Sometimes the simple things are all that are needed in life, and the Spyglass does the simple things rather well indeed. The staff were friendly and helpful, despite having to deal with a large, if rather polite, stag party and their party menu of meze, a main and a chocolate fondue sharer was great value at just £14.95. Beers were a little more expensive at around £4 a pop, but they do serve Bath Gem, which is an excellent local ale. The food is pretty good as well — the hummus in the meze was delicious, as were the peppers with melted cheese. My main of salmon steak was nice, as were all others, ranging from lamb kebabs to burgers to chicken breasts. Nothing earth-shattering but it did the job, which is all you can ask of a place catering for a large party. The fondue, with a mixture of fruits and sweet stuff to dip in was deliciously self-indulgent, with one of our party not resting until every last morsel was dipped. It’s cheap, it’s cheerful and you get fed well. Really, there’s not much more you can ask.

Before moving to Bristol I didn’t realise the fun that could be had on a barge. You can drink cider, go to a night club or have a meal floating on the water. And Spyglass on the Welsh Back is one of the best restaurants in the vicinity. Not only are there great sights to enjoy, but a romantic atmosphere and friendly service. The food aint half bad either! It’s simple fare(BBQs, fries, burgers and salads) but they do it well. Friends of mine who come to visit — love to come here as it’s an individual taste of Bristol.

Located on the Welshback harbour side area of the city centre, Spyglass is surrounded by very popular bars and restaurants like The Apple Bar example, and at times, gets overlooked as it isn’t the most inviting of moored restaurant bars. The interior of the boat itself is a little uninspiring which is another indication of why it seems to struggle against it’s livelier, more atmospheric neighbours. The food itself is also a little pub gruby and not particularly imaginative or mouth-watering. It’s the sort of place you would eat at if you were caught in a beer trap and couldn’t be bothered to go home for dinner. Can’t really imagine why you would choose to go here for dinner. It does have it’s plus points in the summer however. When the weather is suitable, it can feel like you’re on the med as it is very open and light and tries to take advantage of it’s water front location. Not really recommended for anything other than a mid summers drinking session.

Yet another thing on a boat moored at Bristol’s docks. This one is a casual BBQ restaurant where you can get your fingers sticky eating various deep fried and grilled delights. You don’t reserve, you just turn up(or wonder past and get pulled in by the smell of cooking meat), order and wait the short while it takes to get your food. I should warn that its all outdoors here. Whilst this is blissful on a warm sunny day there’s a good reason they’re only open spring and summer. The heaters they’ve got installed do a good job though. Finding this place in the right weather and not too crowded is an art I am yet to master. It’s not all steaks off the grill, with plenty of attention given to the tapas and a few decent deserts. The prices are really quite good(especially compared to the upmarket Glassboat next door). If you’re walking past and get a hunger pang from the sight(or smell) of this place then I encourage you to indulge yourself. It won’t break the bank and you’re sure to get a decent meal.

Spyglass offers simple, tasty food in a nice outdoors(ish!) location. Bascially, it’s set on a boat down on the Welshback with seats spilling out onto the harbour, though(probably sensibly) the eating area is covered and heated(it’s kind of like a safe sex version of alfresco dining). The whole concept is simple. They don’t accept reservations for small parties, it’s first come first served; there’s no starters; and all the main courses(mainly meat) come straight off the barbecue and are served up with fries and salad. Most of the main courses(burgers, sausages, chicken) cost just £7(including the accompaniements) while steaks and fish are a bit more. Nice food, nice location and they charge pub prices to sit in/near a floating restaurant. What’s not to like?

Restaurant on boat, great views, pimms with lots of cucumber and strawberries. Yay! Then it all went downhill… We were given starters without any cutleries, plates or napkins. Whiles I enjoy eating«al fresco» as much as the next person, surely this is why I am in a restaurant? The sweetcorn fritters were yummy, but mainly because they were deep fried. I won’t have known they were sweetcorn anything except for the kernals in it. Burger– A had a burger too and we both thought it tasted funky– sort of «let’s try spice it up» but went flaccid half way. Lots of chips with our food which was brilliant and the girls’ halloumi and asparagus salads looked good and they didn’t offer to share so I assume they liked it?

The menu did indeed look lovely, and the staff greeted me with a smile, but once I was seated it went rather differently. Firstly I realised I had been given a red wine covered menu, which stuck to my hand, as did the table. The place was grubby, and the service non existant! I satand satand SAT, noticing that there were many others lie me looking rather cross. The initial smile I had from my welcome gradually turned into a scowl, and for the first time EVER, I walked out of a restaurant. The galling bit was, that after all the time I was there, nobody noticed me leaving. I had waited 20 mins without being offered even a drink. Loch Fyne got my custom that night.
