St Catherines Place

Across the country you find little parades like this, where shops of all varieties take their place under cover which make them ideal places to draw in shoppers on rainy days. Situated quite centrally along Bedminster’s East Street, St Catherine’s Place is also located within a few hudred yards from Bedminster Train Station. The only downside is that the variety of shops is quite a mish mash — there is a very good British Heart Foundation shop dealing in electrical goods for the home (TVs, Stereos, DVD Players, etc) but apart from this there is not really anything special, which is a shame. With a little bit of TLC and maybe the addition of a few more exciting shops, St Catherine’s Place could become a fantatsic place to shop, not just somewhere to esape the rain! A good place if your passing through, but not somewhere to make an effort to visit.

If your after cover from rain then it’s perfect! If you are after an incredible shopping experience with diversity and choice, and a fresh, new, clean vibe that will leave you feeling so much better for your shop, then, well, it’s not really the place to come!
A british heart foundation, a small sports shop and a green goods shop immediatley spring to mind but most of the places are quickley forgettable.
You can occasionally see a stream of business men around the area because of the offices above and near by. The whole place feels a bit unnatural, it’s almost like bedminster thought they needed a shopping centre and rushed this place into action!
