The rib eye was okay, the T-bone steak was great according to my coworkers, the ceasar salad was not good, the mixed greens with avocado salad was great. The service was also good. The wine was good

Great steak at a reasonable price. We had the Sausage and Vegetable plates and then the Rump steak and Sea Bass. All of it was very good and much better priced then London. The décor was pretty wild. Hot air balloon tables, DR Who booth and a double decker tube tables. The art wasn’t just on the wall but all over the place.

We chose this restaurant for our Christmas ladies night out. It’s a really cool concept venue of steak meets art. And we weren’t disappointed on either front. The décor is really stylish and cool and the food was really good. They do a christmas menu but we went with classic steak. All cuts are well priced and of good quality, plus they cook it exactly to each persons liking. Mine was blue, it could have been even less cooked for my taste but it was really good. Totally melt in the mouth. The only thing missing was a surf and turf option. The sharing boards for starters are good too and 3 fed 6 of us happily. Cocktails there are lush too, if not a little small. A really good restaurant for any occasion.

A group of us went here on a Friday night and really enjoyed the experience! We all had steak, some of us doubled up which you can do for an extra charge. Really impressed with mine and loved how chunky the chips were. One of the things I thought was a brilliant idea was the fact they take your name with what you order so that they know exactly who to give the food to when it comes out. This way it saves the confusion if a few people have ordered the same. The place itself is so modern and fresh! Love that you can book a themed booth so Alice in wonderland, New York etc. Think that makes it a lot more attractive place than just an average table. Makes the experience a lot more enjoyable. I would love to go back and get one of the booths next time so I will be returning.

Wow is the best word to sum it up. The food is amazing, the décor imaginative and the staff super friendly! It’s on canons way(near millennium square) just off the beaten track and well worth the effort to visit! The steak is i have to admit, the best i’ve EVER had and the puddings… dear lord the puddings… yum. Delicious well priced wine and cocktails as an added unexpected bonus. They have a small but creative gallery to the right with no pretentious selling just great art you can buy if you want, or just appreciate. There are a few creative booth’s as well with my favorite being a carved ceiling piece of Alice in wonderland, was so unusual but wonderfully different. This place is genuinely passionate about its food, product sourcing and its customers– how refreshing! Parking is just across the road so no excuse not to try it out– i guarantee i’ll be going back so you should try it :)

I have never been to a restaurant quite like this one before, the place looks amazing. We visited today with a group of 8, one of those 8 being my 23 month old son. They had extended the lunch menu for us by half an hour so we could choose food from either. I had the half chicken with chips, the chips were delicious and perfectly cooked and the chicken was lovely although I would have liked a little more seasoning as after a while it was a little bland. The waitress was lovely and very attentive. She went to get my son a colouring book and some crayons when he was getting a bit bored. I will definitely be planning a second visit.

I’ve eaten in some pretty cool restaurants before, but this is one of most visually impressive that I’ve been to. Steak of the Art is, as you’ve probably guessed, a steak restaurant with an arty twist. You’ll wan’t to take some time to walk around the restaurant and check out the different themed booths(the Alice in wonderland is amazing), the individually designed floor tiles, bespoke carpet and the awesome chairs that they actually sell. It really is an amazingly decorated restaurant. We as a group of 8 and a toddler for lunch. Most ordered from the lunch menu that they actually extended by half an hour for us, which was great. I was hungry so went with the normal menu and ordered the 400g rump steak with chips, peppercorn sauce and shared the broccoli and garlic spinach. All of is was delicious and although parts of the steak with a little fatty, I’d order the same again! Mine came to £24 which is great value for a large steak with 2 sides and a sauce, particular in such an awesome setting! Steak of the Art is definitely one of those places you’ll want to talk about. I can’t wait to go back!

I don’t really like using the word cool but I can’t think of a better word for this place! The décor is easily the coolest I’ve seen in Bristol! The food is locally sourced, the art is beautiful and the service was great. I wanted to steal everything! Even the glass that the coke came in was lovely! My steak was a bit fatty so the food was a little bit disappointing but I’m not sure that’s a fair judgement. It was my 30th birthday so the waiter even offered to make me a cocktail for free(I didn’t get it but it’s the thought that counts!!) I would definitely go back!

Space. the finest one’s here. Not sure if the name conveys the right impression. In a city full of art and other venues serving food amongst the canvas then Steak of the Art is not a new concept. Don’t be misled into thinking this is just another steakhouse though, cos it ain’t. What it is is a brilliant use of space and interior design. Very clever stuff and you should take the time to select what space suits you best as it has been cleverly laid out to allow you to eat by the bar, in the main restaurant area or in one of the themed booths … Alice in Wonderland New York Pop Art Bristol Beer Factory . they each comfortably seat 6 folk and are private enough that you feel VIP but still part of the main space. I got the Barcelona feel from here, mainly due to its location in amongst the new harbourside area of town with the apartments and walkways and its cool outside terrace and even cooler interior. Off the beaten track maybe but that adds to its chic. Whether you are here as a group to share a few cocktails and starter platter or sit down for the full 3 courses with your other half in your best bib and tucker then they have it covered. The menu caters for all food groups yet is not overloaded. Having eaten here twice now I can vouch for the Steak. Mine was perfect and as good as any Wagyu cut i have paid twice as much for. On my first visit I had the Schnitzel and that came out disappointingly overcooked. On pointing this out I received an apology. In my book, when you provide a valid complaint about the food then I expect something more than ‘Sorry’. The menu is not cheap by UK standards but does provide vfm. I would rethink the strategy of serving up the starters on wooden boards as that is top of the hygiene debate right now and is a ‘nono’ for many. If I could see a downside then, for me, it would be the TV in the main dining area. I appreciate the loop it plays detailing how all the ingredients are sourced locally but it was noticeable how those who had the screen in their eye line were being distracted. Not a good idea when one half of a couple thinks their other half is not giving them full attention… i think you get my drift. Resite it somewhere less intrusive or bin it. Take the time too to check out the ceilings whilst browsing the art on show(pricey though) and then take a stroll to their restroom. I can vouch that the Gents is one of the coolest loo’s on this planet(see photo) Word up for the staff. I found them all extremely knowledgeable and not ‘up in your face’ friendly but more just plain helpful and swift. Special mention to Erica who looked after my table last night. She epitomised the whole ethos here and was genuinely enthused about her workspace. Having opened late 2013 this place is already a full house on weekends and offers a Sunday Roast so may be an idea to give them a call if you a planning to visit.
