Nice little salon on Glos road. Was my first time there– Good points: everyone is pretty nice, decorated beautifully, chatty but not to much and accommodating. I Liked the cut The owner gave me an will come back again in a few months. The only negatives i’d say are communication, the sweet girl that booked my appointment booked the wrong time but luckily i was able to move my day around so wasnt a bother, i was told by the same girl that the but would be around £30 but was asked to pay £43 pounds at the till. I am aware it says this on the website however i didnt have the website in front of me and asked the girl to confirm via phone. Overall it was a pleasant experience, i’ve paid higher prices elsewhere so i think for a good cut cant really put a price on that however If their communication was a little tightened & perhaps offered some discounts for returning clients or free gifts-something promotional to get return clients i may become a regular(i do understand they are busy most weekends however-that wont last forever ;-)) Will be recommending to friends.

The Green Room is the first hairdresser of its kind in Bristol: every product used at this environmentally-friendly hair salon is organic(no sulphates, parabens or other nasties), whether it’s the shampoos, hair colour or treatments. The staff are down-to-earth and unintimidating, but the prices are quite high. A friend of mine who had just had a baby and was still breastfeeding decided she didn’t want to run the risk of getting her hair chemically dyed(as there are some people who argue that the chemicals enter the bloodstream and can be dangerous to the baby — although many others say research suggests otherwise). But with some streaks of grey, she didn’t fancy staying au naturel, either. So, she tried this place. They used a product which gave her hair a warm colour without being brash or artificially red(like some henna dyes can be), and she was very happy with the result — although it didn’t come cheap. If you’re really keen to use all-organic products on your hair and body you’ll be used to paying the price for them — and this is a handy place if you live near Gloucester Road both to get your hair cut and to pick up products to use at home.

Living in the eco-warrior part of Bristol that is Gloucester Road must have had an effect on me because i thought it was a wise decision to go the overly-pretencious organic hairdressing salon, The Green Room. I had my hair dyed with henna and it did look nice for a while– but for the price i paid and the very limited amount of time the dye was actually noticeable, it really wasn’t worth it. Every product was at least 3 times more expensive than other salons. My hair felt a little healthier and i felt i deserved a brownie point for being so economically-good, but i didn’t really notice any difference in the quality of the products.

The Green Room is another hairdressers(as if we need anymore on Gloucester Road!) but with a difference. They call themselves an organic hairdressers which I assume means they use posh shampoo and serve herbal tea. To be honest I think it is overpriced for what they do, but I guess if you are really into the Organic thing then its worth a go. I personally didn’t notice that their products were any better for my hair than Pantene ProV I have only tried one of their shampoos.
