This restaurant has been near the top of my list for places to eat in Bristol, and I finally got a chance to eat here. From the outside, it is trendy joint for food and drinks. And on the inside, the stylish décor really comes into its own. The place itself is a micro-brewery, restaurant, and bar, with some groups of people going for a sit-down-meal and some for an evening of drinks at the bar. The place is split into 3 levels, with the bottom being the bar. The menu offers a wide variety of different foods to choose from(all of which seemed more than enticing from a quick glance around at other tables). We ended up going with the crostini as a starter and teriyaki chicken stir-fry for the main. The crostini was delicious and ideal for sharing(as long as you ensure you get your share!). And the stir-fry was extremely enjoyable, with portion sizes being generous. There has to be something said for the drinks brewed at this place as well! We chose to go with 2 of their home-brewed beers, with the mango beer being especially memorable. I would probably recommend getting half pints of more beers, if only to give more of them a go. Finally, the atmosphere and service was outstanding. The unconventional interior was definitely a talking point, with lots of things to lose yourself in on the walls and ceiling, and the music and background noise being more than pleasant. Service was another massive plus for the restaurant as the waiter was extremely kind, and never came to frequently to be irritating, but then didn’t leave to long a time between visits to leave us in the dust. Overall, highly recommended.

I’ve long been and admirer of this place, purely because it does everything in style. Te recent refurb has given the place a cosier feel and a splash of colour, but the beer and food is as delicious as ever. I always seem to grab myself a mango beer and the chicken in white wine sauce pizza — a match made in heaven. Oh, and happy hour is amazing!

Came here with my gf and we had the garlic mussels(which were bleh but that was her order and I didn’t expect much from seafood in Bristol) and I had the caramelized pear pizza and holy heaven it was spectacular. Aside from that the service was good, the people very nice and the portions good sized for the price. I’d recommend it for the pizza. I had a sip of the gf’s beer and it was alright(wheat beer). I wasn’t too impressed

Until today I had never been to Zero Degrees before, I had never really thought about it to be honest but after my experience I will definitely be returning. I came here for lunch with my brother, mum and two year old son. The place was pretty quite which is always a bonus for me with a child that doesn’t like to sit still. My brother told me they have had a refurb so I can’t really comment on that, but it certainly looks lovely inside. It’s very clean cut and everything looks tidy which I like. They also have these amazing lights hanging from the ceiling which my little boy was fascinated by. For food we had 2−4−1 pizzas, a garlic chicken one and the other was a sweet and spicy Italian pizza. The garlic chicken was nice but more like garlic bread with chicken and some red onions than a pizza. The sweet and spicy one was really nice, delicious tomato base with peppers, onions and slightly tough spicy sausage. I think the prices are pretty reasonable and the staff were nice and didn’t seem to mind my little boy running about and letting out the occasional screech. I really enjoyed lunch today so will definitely be returning!

Until today, zero degrees wouldn’t have been a place I’d have considered for lunch. It wouldn’t have been a place I’d consider for anything, for that matter. But It’s been given a lick of paint,(a £300k lick of paint at that!) and a menu refresh and it’s one of the most stylish places in town. The décor inside is fantastic. They have pushed the downstairs bar back to give much more space, have given it a nice copper style overcoat and installed the most awesome lighting I’ve seen in any bar. It’s money well spent! I went in for lunch with my mum, sister and 2 year old nephew for lunch and had the 2−4−1 pizzas. We shared the Garlic chicken pizza and the sweet and spicy Italian pizza. Both were really good! The garlic chicken had a garlic sauce instead of tomato. It was nice, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. The Italian pizza had a delicious tomato base with big chunks of peppers and sausage. The sausage was a little bit chewy, but for roughly £5 is was huge and great value. I would probably be a bit disappointed to pay full price for it. Zero Degrees wouldn’t be top of my list for a night out, or even an evening meal. But that’s just me. It is, however, an impressive restaurant with a great lunch menu — and I’d definitely be back for that!

Love ZeroDegrees, from their amazing home brewed beers(especially the mango) which all go so well with the whole menu. Great fresh pizzas and pastas never fail and a brilliant Christmas menu! Great atmosphere inside, lovely to be on the balcony in the summer or the upstairs terrace outside. Would always recommend.

It’s a great piece of architecture. And it’s great that they brew their own beer which are fab, by the way. But only three stars, because I never really enjoy going there for two fundamental reasons. If I’m out for a drink I like to sit and have a chat. And there’s precious little opportunity for either. There’s mostly standing room, which means you’ve got to keep hold of your drink(= usually results in you guzzling it) and stand right next to your bag or coat or whatever. Then the ceilings are high, the floor uncarpeted and the music kind of persistent — all of which is terrible for holding a conversation. You need to shout to be heard. And because everybody else is shouting too, sooner or later you end up with a sore throat and a headache.

I loved this venue as a bar the beers are great but food was crappy. I had the calamari which was cold and overcooked the breadcrumbs were brown and the squid was rubbery. We were quite a big group which may have contributed to the poor quality food. I had the Thai green pizza which was really really spicy and I like spice but it wasn’t fragrent at all it was just chilli. The pizza base though was really good. I really rate this place it’s cool it’s unique the atmospheres wicked the service was great it’s affordable. The beers funky. I really hope the food improves or is better for other people. Maybe it was a bad night. If I’m visiting I’d definately give it a second chance!

Great Microbrewery, fantastic atmosphere, and killer views of the city. What more can you ask for? The staff is incredibly nice, and I will come here every timI am in town.

This stylish modern micro-brewery has a bar and a restaurant serving mainly Italian cuisine, and it’s justifiably popular with both beer drinkers and pizza lovers. The interior can feel a bit cold and empty with all its chrome, high ceilings, big glass panels, and coloured neon lighting — but when it fills up with people at the weekend it has a slightly better atmosphere, and during the summer the balcony is a good spot for a drink. Beer’s not really my bag, so I can’t honestly give you a worthy review of that, but for the food and the outside balcony alone this place is worth a try sometime. The pizza is well-known to be good here, and plenty of people stop at Zerodegrees just as much for the food as for the beer, which is obviously brewed on site. If you don’t want the party to end, you can also buy a little keg to take home with you!

Unlike most of the clientele I don’t actually like beer so that’s not the main reason I go to Zero Degrees, oh no. I go for the food. Around three o’clock in the afternoon, every afternoon, the smell of garlic begins to waft out of this contemporary microbrewery. While the feel inside is rather clinical with all that glass and metal, the mouth-watering pizzas and mussels make up for it! Smoked salmon and mascarpone pizzas, teriyaki chicken salad and gourmet sausage and mash are just some of the treats, and if you have room for dessert then try anything chocolate covered! The large circular bar is in the middle of the space with a bar area and outdoor seating on one side and a restaurant split over two levels on the other. The food is a little pricey but the quality of the ingredients makes this the perfect destination for a treat or to take visitor, who will no doubt be impressed with the pipes and tubes spouting out the top of the building. It can be quite tricky to find a seat near the bar but one can usually bag a table for four midweek without any problems — over the weekend you might want to book ahead. All the beer produced here can also be purchased in mini kegs which is perfect for presents or parties.

A micro-brewery, bar and restaurant, Zerodegrees has many strings to its bow. There’s a definitely contemporary style — all glass and chrome — to this establishment. Indeed Zero Degrees is a classy joint through and through — the gourmet pizzas are delicious, the mussels are great, the mango beer is a treat indeed. The best part is that everything is respectably priced as well, a rare thing for somewhere so flagrantly stylish. I particularly recommend stopping by for the afterwork happy hour from 5 – 7, grabbing one of the last remaining tables in the sunshine and relaxing to the maxing before heading inside to feast on eclectically topped pizzas.

I want to start out by saying what an awesome little place this is — Zero Degrees is a great restaurant which has its own micro brewery as well as a downstairs bar! The building itself is very attractive, it has a glass exterior making it look classy and a bit different to your standard restaurant. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and you are looked after by staff from the moment you step inside the building. From my experience the restaurant is always busy, and the food is great — although slightly on the higher price end, you definitely get your money’s worth. You can expect to pay around a tenner ahead for main meals when eating out here. The types of food you can order include: gourmet pizza, salad, risotto, mussels, sausages, and paste — all brilliantly cooked and well presented! In my opinion the best thing about this restaurant is the micro brewery — ordering a pint of hand crafter home-made beer makes the whole experience seem that little bit more special! The bar downstairs also allows you to order a 5L keg of beer for £16, which is great if you visit with a large group of friends! They also offer larger ‘party kegs’ which you can order and takeaway for use at your own disposal!

I haven’t tasted their own beer, but my housemate says(from over my shoulder as I type) that they are very good! We visited for my friends birthday meal and the food was incredible. I had a seafood pizza which(if I closed my eyes) I could imagine I was back in Italy. Inside it is modern, clean and stylish however after reading Mark M’s review I can understand why some people may alike it to an airport! I guess it depends on personal taste, but if you are looking for something a little different to Pizza Express and Zizzi’s but are not ready to try more independent restaurants then this may be the place for you!

I won’t lie to dear Unilocaler, when someone suggested we went to Zerodegrees as it was Bristol’s own microbrewery I didn’t have a clue what they meant. Had I thought about it for long enough I probably would have been able to piece it together — but thankfully they explained; microbrewery — tiny brewery — bar that makes and serves its own beer. Ooh yes, we should definitely go there. Zerodegrees is quite stunning in design; glass panelling, coloured light and a lofty space but due to its enormity it does lack atmosphere. Having said that, it’s a great experience — the food and beer and flavoursome and it’s great to experience something so home-grown. If you like a taste of Zerodegrees offerings, you can buy a keg to take home with you.

I find micro breweries a little hit and miss at times and I think Zero degrees is more of a miss than a hit. For a start, I don’t really like any of the beers they brew so that in itself makes me not want to go in, but even if I did like one, I’d still rather go some place else. The overriding problem is the atmosphere. Being a large open plan building catering for a restaurant and a bar area, the atmosphere is more akin to an airport lounge than a bar or a restaurant. The food on offer is Italian in style, specializing predominantly in pizzas for which they do reasonably well, but there are definitely better pizzerias in Bristol, so I can’t really give it a whole hearted thumbs up.

Microbrewery? Check. Restaurant? Check. Bar? Check. There’s certainly a lot going on at Zerodegrees, but in attempting to fit so much into once place they’ve created a large, echoey, loud venue that is sorely lacking in atmosphere. The one exception is the balcony and if you’re able to jostle for a seat out there, hold onto it as it offers great views over the Christmas Steps. Zerodegrees is certainly an ambitious place, but in trying to tick so many boxes, it’s become more of a master of none than the jack of all trades it so clearly aspires to be.

The idea of a microbrewery in the middle of Bristol fascinates me — they brew all their own beer on-site, and you can see it happening through the ultra-modern panes of glass. Its damn tasty too — from rich, chocolatey brews to light refreshing lagers — there’s a glass to suit every palate. To match the list of beverages, the pizza and mussels menus are just as comprehensive– I munched through a whole Hoisin duck pizza(de-lish) and my fellow diner licked his lips over the kilo pot of shellfish with chilli and coconut milk, a spice sensation. Most evenings the bar area is jostling students and nurses from nearby BRI — so if you’re looking for a romantic evening over a pot of mussels(natural aphrodisiacs, perhaps?), ask for a cosy table upstairs away from the hustle and bustle of the main thorough-fare. Stay for a drink after or swing by to Wild Wood to end your evening.

Something I hadn’t seen until they set up shop in Bristol, Zero Degrees is a micro-brewery and restaurant. It was built new a couple of years ago, and the glass walls of the building show big shiny tanks where their beer ferments. I like to think I’m the sort of person that doesn’t get taken in by big shiny things so I’ll try and stay in discerning reviewer mode. It is very swish. Having been on a couple of real ale brewery tours, where things are generally old manish and bit folksy(which is fine), this is a interesting new take on the idea of a brewery. Don’t go here expecting an old man with a beer belly to explain the fermentaion process and then let you drink four pints, though. The beer itself is pretty good. Refreshing and not too heavy, it goes well with the mostly Italian menu on offer. I’ve certainly had better, but pretty impressive considering it’s from a micro-brewery. Zero degrees should probably be applauded for having a go at breaking the mould a bit and trying to bring something new to Bristol. I like what they’ve done. Recommend to anyone who enjoys a pint, not just those who particularly enjoy their beer.

I’m a big fan of breweries and i’m a big fan of Italian foodsuffice to say I’m a massive fan of Zerodegrees! They offer a good range of on-site brewed beers covering all the bases(Pilsener, Wheat Beer, Ale and a range of fruit beers) which come at a very reasonable price for a restaurant. For food they offer a very good two-course set menu for £12 and both the Bruschetta & Americana Pizzas get the big thumbs up from me(warning– the chillis on the americana may well blow your socks off). The staff were fantastic too and concocted a little firecracker of a shot to get our stag-in-toe started along the road to destruction.
