A slightly weird experience dining here as there is a feature of a pit with a skeleton in it. Quirky décor I can find interesting but tasteless coffee and sandwiches made with stale bread I’m less inclined to forgive.

This former gift shop is now a tea room. They do a nice chicken baguette, and on a dry day you can sit outside on one of the two small tables and enjoy your food. Friendly, talkative staff and reasonable prices.

A great little gift shop built in 2 very old cottages with a wishing well as part of the shop. You can definately spend an hour looking round in there. Some 350 or more years ago, the Wishing Well stood between two flint cottages. The Well served as a means of fresh water for half a century, until the two cottages were integrated into the present building. By the 1750s smuggling was a major industry. Caves and tunnels ran from the coast in land to sellers in the village. The Well was used by smugglers to hide contraband. Smuggling had become so rife in this part of Kent. A great place to grab a holiday present but parking is a bit of a nightmare
