Was craving a good Chinese, but after moving just outside our old favourites delivery zone, we took a shot on Ho Lok to be our new local Chinese takeaway. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver, on so many levels.
First, they stated the delivery would be an hour slot ending at 8:30pm. Delivery came at 8:55, nearly an hour an a half after we placed the order.
Secondly, once the food arrived, it was not very good. The chicken was rubbery and gross, the won tons were minced mystery meat and overall the approach here seems to be to heavily spice and hope the shear heat will make it palatable. It didn’t work.
Finally, for the price we paid for two starters and two mains (plus rice) was quite steep, especially for the low quality food and late delivery that was delivered.
Fortunately, I will never have to order from here again, unfortunately, I still need to find a new local Chinese take away.

This place is notoriously fast for delivery, but at the same this is quite worrying when you order a slow cooked dish, and it’s on your doorstep in 10mins.
