Padbury Meats is an excellent local butcher.
They stock superb meats from local farms and game, including excellent bacon and sausages: the Padbury Swingers sausages and Kevs specials are both excellent. They are the biggest game dealer in the area and specialise in pheasant, partridge, wild duck, pigeon breast, venison and rabbit when in season: generally through the autumn and winter until February.
What you possibly wouldn’t expect is that there is also an excellent delicatessen counter with hams, pies, cheeses, chutneys and preserves.

Padbury meats uses small, specialist, often local suppliers; so they have good environmental and quality credentials. They stock all the basics such as eggs and bacon, hams, pies and gammon joints, preserves, sauces, relishes, chutneys, cheeses (including Stinking Bishop for the really brave), pâtés, mustard and dressings.
They have a good range of seasonal game, all shot in the area. The meats available include pheasant, partridge, wild duck, pigeon breast, venison and rabbit. For Christmas you can order a wide range of poultry including goose cockerel, free range chicken, guinea fowl, quail, poussin and duck. The cheese selection is worth an extra mention as they stock a wide variety including Somerset Camembert, English Stilton, Bouncing Berry Snowdonia and Wyke Farm mature Cheddar, Irish St Killian Brie, English Stilton, mini Wensleydale with cranberries, Cornish Yarg and traditional Montgomery Cheddar.
