The Old Red Lion is quite a pleasant pub right in the centre of Burnley. During the day time it tends to be quiet but it does serve some tasty pub food at reasonable prices. The service also tends to be quick at lunchtimes making it great if you’re in a rush to get back to work. On a Friday and Saturday evening it tends to get very busy but is also one of the first pubs to empty out. If you’re on a night out then it’s a great atmosphere and despite being particularly busy, I’ve never had to wait for long at the bar to be served. The prices of drinks are average for Burnley town centre and there’s a good mix of people and ages on a weekend evening. Strangely enough, the Red Lion seems to go quite after 10pm on a Friday and Saturday, probably as people continue on to the other pubs in the vicinity but it’s still a nice place to pop in either for a meal and a quiet drink in the daytime or a boogie and a tipple at night.
