The Riverside used to be the ‘Place to go’ in Burton but unfortunately it is now very tired and outdated it definitely needs a referb.
However the bar area is a nice place to have a drink and you do have the option to go onto the patio area for alfresco

Standard chain pub fayre in a pleasant setting. There were however a refreshingly good choice of vegetarian main dishes, unusual for a pub. The last time we were here we were kept waiting for a very long time to even place our order due to a severe staff shortage.

As a new vegetarian, I was surprised at the menu for veggies. I chose a beautiful aubergine, feta and betroot cannelloni dish. It’s possibly one of the nicest pub dishes I’ve ever had.
I’m actually a pescitarian — fussy I know — and shared a beautiful fish platter as a starter.
The service from our waiter was lovely. He was a little manwell-​esque in a nice way.
The thing that lost the venue two stars was the price of the drinks. Charged us wine bar type prices, which was not warranted. This is just a pub at the end of the day.
