As frankie and bennies go it’s ok, getting a bit tired inside, recent update to the menu, but still very greasy for me

If you like Applebee’s or TGI Friday’s you will like this place. I wasn’t a huge fan, as the chain restaurant vibe is easily visible in the menu and lack of service. It can be good for a night out, especially if you’re an American transplant looking for something more similar to what you’d find at home.

Cross between an American 50’s dinner and an Italian fast food chain. Food was cooked well, just doesn’t pop with amazing flavor or creativity – just kind of «food». They’ve put so much effort into the décor and lighting, so it’s kind of disappointing that the flavor doesn’t match up. Always one of my favorite places to interact with the servers, though, bc they understand customer service and love interacting with their patrons.

Most of the food I ordered when I came here was great. I lived about 5 minutes away so I went there with friends numerous times to order pizza, the Amazing Skins which were always fully loaded. The BBQ chicken potato skins were quite filling, so if you’ve eaten a little while before, you’re gonna have fun stuffing the rest of your stomach with deliciousness. A few times I ordered something to go and chow down at work. The seafood is also delicious as are the many drinks they have and make at the bar. I would go every day if I could. Frankie and Bennys is the bees knees.

I’ve never been to a Frankie & Benny’s before. I was told to expect something along the lines of TGI Friday’s. It has a very 1950’s American theme going on. The 50’s music is great. They have a huge bar with an extensive cocktail list(my wife was in heaven). We went on a Friday night and had to wait at the bar for about half an hour before our table was ready which is pretty good I think. The food wasn’t bad. I had calamari for a starter which was unbelievably good. That was followed by a Black and Blue Burger which was not bad. Good size portions. The service here was friendly and I never had any problems getting there attention. I was pleasantly surprised when the bill came as I was expecting to pay more. Loads of pay and display parking just across the road. There are many more places in Bury St Edmunds that I would like to try before coming back to Frankie and Benny’s, however I can see me coming back here one day. I want to give this place 3 stars but we had such a fun experience, I think it’s only fair to give 4 stars!

This is your typical ‘slice of America’ chain restaurant. If you had to compare it to other typical chain restaurants that are actually in America, I’d say it is a slight step above TGI Fridays or Applebees. I’m generally put off by restaurant chains in the States and Frankie & Bennies just remind me of the same category. My burger wasn’t bad. The service was good even when the place was packed. All together, it was a good weekend lunch out.

I went to this restuarant on Saturday, after spending a few hours shopping in the local area with my children and their grand-parents. After initially waiting for twenty minutes for a table(no big problem, we should have reserved), we were then seated next to a table of drunken 20 year olds.(my children were 5 and 8 respectively). The table we were given did not comfortably sit all of us, there were six of us and we were very cramped to say the least(infact squashed in is more the word). After complaining to the manager, who can only be described as «waiting to be somewhere else», we were then given the information that«we should have reserved».(we knew that). I cannot comment on the food at all, as we got up to leave before this event happened. This involved the manager rushing over to us and asking us «where we were going», and then«well you will have to wait anywhere else aswell» We were not complaining about the waiting time, we were complaining about the positioning he gave us when we recieved a table. Dont get me wrong, I used to be 20 and used to go out for rowdy meals, but I never wanted to be sat next to young children whilst I shouted profanities. Also, the manager had decided to seat us next to the door. It was freezing cold. I can only say that on another non-busy day, they are probably very good. But on a busy day, with waitresses and managers not caring for their clients, I wasnt waiting around to find out, and wont be going back in the near or distant future. I cant recommend this restuarant as I didnt eat there, and perhaps never will. I can only comment on the fact that this is a famous chain resturaunt, with a normally good customer service record(which is why we went) needless to say it wasnt what I was expecting…

I heard about this place from someone at work. The location of this restaurant couldn’t be better, situated next to Cineworld Cinema and across the way from ARC shopping center. The car park in between is a lovely convenience and costs around £3 for 4 hours of parking. My husband and I parked and walked around the mall a bit then off to Frankie & Bennies we went. We had a half and half pizza. One half being Americano Chicken, the other half was a veggie Californian with pesto for sauce and goat cheese sprinkled atop. The crust was thin as we like it and not cracker like. We also had Amazing Skins for an appetizer, corn and cheddar. Overall the food was pretty good and I can see how this could become a family place for us. The décor is warm and roomy and the menu has something for everyone in my family. I must state how nice the location is once again. Easy to navigate to and we went on a Saturday so were close enough to visit Bury’s Saturday Market.
