Super tasty and fast, but a little pricey. They use MSG which isn’t great for people with allergies. Not a huge amount of vegetarian options, but all are delicious and are generous portions.

I was excited to come across a dedicated noodle restaurant in Bury St Edmunds as I often visit friends and relatives up here. I should let you know that my experience was probably a bit tainted as I had to navigate a family of five(including two very young children) around town in the freezing winds and snow. We didn’t really know where this place was so we took a few wrong turns before we managed to find it. So as I’m sure you can imagine, by the time we did get there I was feeling a little bit edgy. The first thing I noticed about Zen Noodle Bar is how trendy this place looks. This trendy look as probably amplified because you have to walk down a narrow oldy worldy cobble stone road to get there. Friendly staff great you as you enter. The menu is pretty varied. I had the shrimp won ton soup and found it to be very bland. However the other four in our group had delicious meals(I know because I tried them all). I thought this place was slightly on the pricy side. I would come back again. I just won’t have the won ton soup.

Excellent location in the center of Bury. Call ahead to reserve a table if out for dinner on the weekends. I had the spicy prawn noodle soup and it was delicious. There was good quantity of prawn, they were large in size, and they were cleaned properly(first time in Europe!). The menu describes the broth as clear but don’t let it discourage you. It delivers with traditional ramen flavor. Will most certainly be going back to sample more of the menu. Here’s their menu link:

I went here on a recommendation from a coworker. It’s kinda off the beaten path, but I found it. I came for lunch and got the Singapore spicy noodles. It was very good, lots of flavor. It has curry to spice it up. I’m not a huge curry fan, but it was very tasty. I also got the Grilled pork dumplings, which was also very good. I have since returned again and got their Zen special noodles, which I enjoyed very much. The prices are reasonable and the décor inside was pleasant. I will try and return before heading back to the US.

Delicious food! I found this place while looking for«noodles» nearby. Drove all the way out to Cambridge to eat at Wagamama, food was terrible. Anyway, I got excited because I found a place a lot closer to me, looked online at the menu and I was sold. I ordered the pork dumplings and the hot & spicy soft shell crab as starters. The pork dumplings were ok, my son loved it. Now, the soft shell crab, oh lordy, that was AWESOME! It’s a whole, deep fried soft shell crab, seasoned with salt and pepper and topped with minced garlic, green onions and peppers with a side of sweet chili sauce for dipping. For my entrée, I ordered the sliced roast pork ho fun. The soup was very tasty and the roast pork was extremely tender. Great portion sizes and I will definitely be going back!

Expensive, occasionally exceptional, but can also give you crap food! I once got fish in a veg dish, which is not really acceptable. Wine & beer are expensive, so is the food. I wish I could recommend this more, but I have only enjoyed one meal there, though I’ve eaten there several times.

A very friendly and high paced noodle bar. Better than any high street chain.
