Took the kids out for a treat, wow the pizzas were huge, very tasty and also very expensive .The bill was over £60 for 4 pizza’s and 1 drink each. Would definitely recommend it for lovely toppings to I had goats cheese & caramelised onions it was delicious. Will return.

Had pizza at Pizza express felt like we we’re being rushed because they wanted the table. The waiter wasn’t very attentive. However the food was nice but very expensive. Probably won’t return.

I called in Pizza Express while in Bury, having grabbed a Tesco Boost coupon to get any pizza for £2, I was slightly tricked into buying it as although it was £2 in clubcard points and relatively nothing, especially compared to the 7 – 8 pounds in CASH they charge here, the coupon was only for Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s. Luckily I was in Bury on a Tuesday and I decided to check this place out. Pizza Express is probably one of my least favoured pizza chains, just above Domino’s after terrible experiences at certain branches to warrant a 1 star review, for example the branches at Liverpool One and London Baker Street really disappointed me. They was a kerfuffle submitting my voucher, as they originally wouldn’t accept it as they told me «it wasn’t the code» they needed, when it was actually the right email, as the other one was just a proof of purchase, having used these coupons before at other chains, Ask Italian for example, I was shocked to see it take so long to go through this, when simply I had paid for my coupon and I had a right to get my pizza without commotion. They did eventually get my pizza, only to come to problem number 2; they wouldn’t let me take it away. They told me that this offer was only for sitting in, however I intended to take it home with me so I asked them, «Could I just have one slice and box it up for me?» They agreed to this. My pizza come at lightening speed, and literally taken under 5 minutes, which I was shocked at because it normally takes 3−4x as long in restaurants, and they only seemed to put my order in after going through my coupon drama. This made me worry; I worried that cross-contamination was highly likely and/or my pizza was frozen. Previously, when using take out services at Zizzi, they told me to wait about 40 minutes for them to thoroughly clean the area where it will be prepared, and I did, so comparing the 2 experiences and waiting times, really did worry me. As I decided to order no drinks and basically sit there until my food would be sent, I guess the waitress give up; she brought me my pizza in a box and just let me take it, with a warning that I can not do that again in the future. My pizza was okay, I ordered an American pizza gluten free, the pizza did taste a little burnt around the edges(Strange as it only taken minutes to be brought to me), parts of the pepperoni didn’t taste right, and a little chewy, the pizza base was okay, considerably better than some rivals like Domino’s, but compared to other places: Pizza Hut, Zizzi, Ask Italian for example, the pizza isn’t fantastic, it is barely satisfactory. I wouldn’t recommend coming here, the pizza was okay but if I had paid in full for it, I would have been a little upset. I feel based on this issue, the issue with the coupon and the food being served far too quick(It did worry me a little and it just didn’t seem right), I feel I can only give 2 stars, which is a shame as I had previously gave this branch 4 stars in August 2014.

To be honest I avoid eating in chain restaurants as much as possible because I want to give other businesses a chance. but after looking around Bury for awhile on a empty stomach we decided to come here. The waiter was very prompt and seated us immediately, he must have read my mind that I did not want to be seated near the noisy kids… When I looked at the menu, it had been awhile since I had come here, and knew I probably couldn’t manage a full pizza to myself. so like I do in pizza hut I ask for half and half… One waitress looked confused but the other was absolutely brilliant and said of course, if not she would personally make the chef do it :) so I ordered this with some dough balls, when it arrived it was the perfect amount for me…*see picture So just keep in mind that if you are with a friend with a different dietary requirement just ask to split it as it is not advertised on the menu. The mint and elderflower prosecco was a tasty drink to wash the food down with but a tad pricey. but overall I really enjoyed my experience here today and that was mainly through the really enthusiastic waitress who went that extra mile :) I just wish I had some change on me to give her a tip.
