I went to Stone’s Café Bar after being recommended it on the Coeliac UK application as they have Gluten Free labelled on the menu. I was rather excited to try food here having been before and it was closed, as they are closed on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. I found 2 things on the menu, which both looked very nice and were Gluten Free, a rissoto dish or Fish Pie in a white wine sauce with pieces of Haddock and Salmon, I chosen the Fish Pie for £9.95 and I rather wish I chosen the slightly more expensive rissoto option as it was simply awful, the sauce did taste okay but the potato on top was horrible to add to horrible and chewy fish. The only thing Stone’s actually impressed me on was my Caffe Latte. After I had the food and had arrived home, I began to feel quite unwell due to the food I had eaten here. Overall, I would defiantly not recommended Stone’s, it is opposite Fairfield Hospital but the food quality isn’t near the quality you would even expect to have in a hospital.
