A Thwaites tied pub by the looks of if. I had a Nutty slack mild that was okay. The food looked good at a reasonable price. I had a large bowl of hash brown served with Peas red cabbage and a small slice of crusty bread at under £3. They also do a stew and a couple of other things at that price. The pub looks pleasant from the outside and has a snug type bar and a large open area with a Modern feel. They have a permanent DJ set up and look like they do a bit of entertainment. Not the largest selection of Ales but better than n one. Worth a Visit if in Bury.

One of Bury’s older pubs, the Two Tubs is a pub of two halves. There is a quieter raised level lounge for the casual drinker, while the main area is given over to a sizeable bar and dancefloor. The pub tends to attract a slightly older crowd than Bury’s central pubs, yet it is only a stones throw away from the more popular venues. The dancefloor does get very busy on a Friday and Saturday night, and is often a starting point for stag and hen parties. The music is a good mix — you won’t get any hardcore dance music here, the DJs tend to play more mainstream songs, whether it be rock, indie, pop or good old cheesy disco! The atmosphere in the Two Tubs is generally good, but occasionally, due to the cramped conditions, it can become a bit of a jostle in the larger bar area and to the sides of the dancefloor. The toilets are to be avaoided if at all possible, they never seem to be among the cleanest in Bury! Not a bad place to spend an hour of a group night out, but if you’re in a smaller group or looking for a livelier alternative, central Bury has better to offer.
