Went for a round of drinks, and we enjoyed the local pub experience. Not the biggest of space, but cozy and proper pub ambience. Closely located to the university centre, it makes a good meeting point, especially those at Sidney College. Would love to try other drinks and food if I ever get to go back.

In my opinion the best pub in Cambridge, one of the last real pubs with full oak interior and leather seats. The smell of ale immediately meets the nose when one walks through the doors, then one is greeted by the jolly Land Lord Lawrence(whose knowledge on ale is second to none). The pub is one of the smallest in Cambridge but this only adds to its character, one would think one had walked into a well kept pub in the country when entering rather than a pub in the middle of a city. The pub will have guest Ales constantly from a local brewery and has an array of lagers, Ciders and the occasional Stout as well. Overall a fanstastic pub which is rarely matched in Cambridge and a must for anyone looking for pint or two while out in Cambridge.

This is a very cosy feeling pub, probably better suited for a drink on a cold winter’s day, but still worth a look in the summer(especially if it is raining on you like it was on us at the time!). Has a lot of different alcoves and seating areas. There is even a small part of the bar that serves a separate section. The pub is much loved by locals and is also the name of a local rowing team who meet here apparently. Kindly helped us book a taxi when it came the time to leave.
