Wow what a beautiful shop! Located in Bristol, Swansea and Cardiff, Allison Jayne is a family run business selling a wide selection of bridal wear. I visited the Cardiff shop, after booking an appointment. Myself and my family were greeted warmly and looked after from the moment we stepped inside. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about their stock, and were extremely honest in guiding me towards choices. They were very patient, and tried lots on with me, and seemed so keen to help me make the decision. The dresses themselves were beautiful, there was plenty of choice and the staff walk you through each one and really show you them which is incredibly helpful. Overall it was such an enjoyable experience, and I felt so happy and supported by every member of staff who made certain every member of my family was happy. Wow, what a great shop!

Its was painful to even rate this shop one star to be honest. Avoid this place at all costs. The staff were rude, particularly the owner who kept saying every single dress looked amazing just to make me buy it including the hideous dresses. They didnt listen to me or find anything that suited what i explained i was looking for, in fact they pretty much showed me the complete opposite.
Im a good size 12 and all the dresses were far too small to try on properly, most of them being a size 10. i asked why and apparently it was because the only buy one size and most of these were to fit the mannequins. This idea i found ridiculous, i not only had to be held into most of the dresses which was embarrassing and im not even big in size, you could not tell what it would really look like in the correct size, so they tried explaining to me instead! Absolutely ridiculous!
If you want to go and try on the most important dress of your life and be made to feel fat, uncomfortable, unlistened to and as if you are being taken for a ride then go to Alison Jayne in Cardiff as this place will tick all those boxes.

This is a fantastic bridal shop. I’ll admit that I’ve bought my dress from there but I really am a fan.
For years as a teenager and in my early 20s I’d walk past the shop and look through the window at the gorgeous gowns inside and here I am having bought my dress from there for my wedding in December.
Allison Jayne was the first bridal shop I went to. I called to make an appointment but you don’t have to if you just want to have a look around. I went mid week so it was lovely and quiet but it can get rather busy on a Saturday.
There is a huge selection of dresses available and the ladies there are happy for you to pick out as many as you want to try on, I went along picking out dresses and handing them to the assistant who would them put them in the changing room ready for me.
The assistant I was with was wonderfully helpful and was honest with me when I needed to be told that something didn’t suit me, I tried on one dress that I and my aunt loved but the sales assistant told me that the dress was too old for me, which looking back on I agree with.
The shop itself is warm and welcoming, the changing rooms are private so there’s no chance of anyone outside peeking in at you. The dresses are widely priced so there’s something for everyone, they also usually have a sales wrack.
As well as wedding dresses they also sell shoes, veils, shrugs, hair pieces and bridesmaid dresses.
I’d highly recommend Allison Jayne to brides for a professional and welcoming service.

You’d think with the amount of bridal shop reviews I’ve done that perhaps some small part of me wants to climb into a gown and spit out my vows one day. Sadly no, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a store for its ranges of exquisite gowns and stellar customer service.
Allison Jayne has the most diverse selection of gowns I’ve seen, from the more ostentatious Marie Antoinette-​styles in brilliant shades to your usual no-​beads, no-​lace traditional variety. Not sure what camp I’m in, as they all seem like head-​turners in their own right.
I was surprised at how modest some of the prices were as well, with several on offer for less than £1,000. I think if I had forthcoming nuptials, I’d probably come to Allison Jayne first, as you’re less likely to look like a catalogue bride in one of these spectacular dresses.
