Bauhaus

I discovered Bauhaus when I googled "Cardiff Curly Hair Specialists" and I'm so glad I did! I took my stringy, broken, frizzy pre-Covid mop in to see if Matthew could do anything with it, and he sent me out looking amazing! I am unashamedly obsessed with my new look, and I keep checking myself out in every reflective surface I see! Matthew was so obviously an expert at his craft, and he talked me through everything he was doing. He taught me how to use each product he used on me (without pressuring me to buy any -- I did buy some because I really needed them, but I felt absolutely no pressure) and he also taught me how to style my own hair so that I can keep it looking fabulous. I feel like I got a haircut and a lesson, and I loved every minute of it! And what's more...Day 2 and it looks just as amazing (curly girls know what I mean!) Highly recommend, can't wait to go back.

Had a fab cut and color here. Vicky is a very good stylist. She listened completely to what i wanted.
Wish there was a bit more pampering as in hand or head massages like the other aveda salons, but never mind! I had a good hair cut and that is what i went for!

This is a lovely salon using equally lovely Aveda products. They moved from their original shopfront on St Mary Street just around the corner onto the quieter Bakers Row, which is a better location.
I really like Aveda’s weirdly earthy, woody fragrances — and their products are more natural than most used in salons, with up to 95% natural ingredients, according to my stylist. Even the colour is up to 99% naturally derived, so it’s less damaging to your hair.
The staff seem to be proud to work here, and the salon itself is a relaxing environment in which to spend an hour or so. Some of their stylists specialise in hair for weddings, balls or big nights out — and many have worked as stylists on TV and film productions. They also offer little extras such as free fringe trims between cuts, which is great for regulars.
Good city centre salon using more natural products than most — and they even offer a 10% student discount with a valid NUS card.

I popped in here on Friday because I was in town, my hair was a mess and I noticed a sign outside saying that they had walk in appointments and it looked like a pretty funky sort out place so I decided to take the plunge.
My stylish was great and listened to what I was hoping for and made some suggestions for what would suit my hair type and soon enough she was chopping away. I really liked what she did with it and better still after washing it and doing it myself next day it was still looking good.
Price I think was £32 or £35 which is what I usually pay to have my haircut anyway, so its not a cheapy place but they are quality hairdressers. Maybe not quite good enough to keep me from my regular hair stylish but defiantly convenient and a good find.

This is all my lovely’s opinion relayed here. Though I did have to wait a long time in there with her.
She loved it, she was really happy with the cut and style the hairdresser gave her. That is a pretty big complaint as she loves a moan my lass. Just joking…*Sweating*
But yea, the layout was pretty cool and slighty mod-​like. The price is way more than I’d ever pay but madam was happy to pay it and give a tip to the ‘very nice lady’. All in all a good trip to the stylists. Phew.

I really need more stars to express just how awesome these guys are!!!
I’ve always had a morbid fear of hairdressers, and can’t remember the last time I’ve come out of one disappointed. Not with Bauhaus!
They really listen and spend time working out how you want your style. I did what a lot of hairdressers dread and took a pic of how I wanted my hair to look, and they (Steph) got it absolutely spot on!!!
Great products, with no hard sell, very friendly staff who made me feel welcome and also good aftercare (free fringe trims between cuts etc). So many people have complimented me on my hair, and everytime I walk past a mirror/​window I’m beaming!!!
If you’re reading this, and are thinking of going also bear in mind they are moving today (10^th June), around the corner (close to Lakeland plastic)

Nice Aveda products, Great cut. lovely staff would recommend. Much better cut than Kamigata in LLandaff and £10.00 cheaper.

Aveda Bauhaus is a great salon located on main shopping street in Cardiff city centre.
I was looking to get my hair done for a night out when I noticed a sign outside advertising a walk in cut for £32.00,I thought that for this price I would get a quick cut and blow dry but I was wrong!!!
Whilst my hair was being washed a stylist chatted to me to find out what I wanted done and gave me plenty of ideas I had not contemplated.
The stylist gave me a wonderful cut and even took the time to straighten my very long thick hair.
When my hair was done I did not feel obligated to buy any of the products, which I normally do in other salons.
Although the salon is very swanky the staff are lovely and everybody at the party in the night said how nice my hair looked! that says it all.
