Conveniently located across the road from Allied Carpets, Carpet right is the sort of smarter younger brother of its neighbour. As one would expect it has lots of carpets. Mostly in beige. I’m profoundly glad that we were looking for a speckly orangey-​terracotty carpet that wouldn’t show the dirt and would match the hall tiles. If we’d come for beige it wouldn’t have been possible to choose. Whereas they didn’t have a a speckly orangey-​terracotty carpet that wouldn’t show the dirt so we wandered next door to the older brother.
We did, however, buy and handy dirt-​trapping doormat — perhaps that will make the whole not showing the dirt thing redundant?

Carpetright was the third carpet store we visited that day. It had a good selection of carpets and even a few beds. But unfortunately my toddler was getting a bit bored by then and I was having trouble actually asking the salesman questions without having to excuse myself to chase after my bain.
When I did manage to finally manage to stop long enough to ask the sales guy some questions he seemed to really know his stuff — I got the low down on the benefit of wool over nylon carpet and many a fantastic fact about the different types of carpet piles. However, in the end Carpetright didn’t have quite what we were looking for. But well worth a look though.
