Freye Dry Cleaners have been around since 1966, so they’ll be celebrating 50 years of service before too long. That’s pretty impressive by anyone’s standards, especially these days. It is particularly true of the Wellfield Road site. A lot of businesses try and fail to stick on this stretch of road, and with two other laundrettes with dry cleaning services attached, within easy walking distance of this outlet, and one only a quick stroll around the corner, the competition is more that a little fierce! But Freye Dry Cleaners have got themselves covered. Not only have they got an enviable reputation to trade on, but they have also got the other branches to back them up financially whilst they engage of a bit of a price war with the others. It’s possible to get four items dry cleaned for £14.00 at the moment, and any duvet, regardless of size, can be cleaned for £12.00. Whilst I respect Freye Dry Cleaners, if anybody is going to professionally clean my duvet it’s going to be the Penylan Laundrette I’m afraid… not because I know them to be better at cleaning duvets, but because the chap that owns this laundrette is a hoot!

There is another Freye Dry Cleaning(also known as Derek Freye, just to be a little bit confusing) a few streets over so local residents have their pick of the two. I won’t be using this dry cleaner again just because the other one I’ve been to since I’ve lived in Cardiff(I can’t remember the name just now but I’ll find it and update this! In the meantime, it will be in my profile — I’ve reviewed it!) was just a little better with regards to customer service. This wasn’t awful by any means but I have to have some way of differentiating between two places which were both nice and had the desired results! If Freye is your local dry cleaner, have no fear. Your clothes are safe and will be returned looking and smelling great.
